Everyone read your coffee out, its time for another SRT4 novel.
Bottle was emty, and I got tired of hearing the open DP, so, I went out to the local spot with the stock dp/exhuast...
I'm just hanging out, and a stang wants to run me... no biggie, its a SN95. I figure its gonna have a zillion mods just race ANY SRT4 ( ouch, low blow ), so I don't bother to ask what's done, since he wouldn't tell me anyway ( plus, in this case, I didn't have all night ). Some tells me he's claming it ran 12.1 on the motor and low 10s on the bottle... Ok fine, lets race. Go out to the local spot, and I goto warm the tires up, and the flagger didn't see me holding my hand up, and raises his hands, and I'm like, ahhhh F it, so I get a crappy launch and the stang comes out about even with me ( maybe had me by a fender ), and I'm about 1/2 a car back and I see him flip on his hazards like a rice boy IN SECOND GEAR !!! I guess he's never raced a desent SRT4 before... I start to reel him in, and PASS HIM AT 100MPH EVEN !!! But we both stay in it till 125mph ( my 4th is done at 125mph, and I don't race in 5th ). I end up a few cars ahead at 125mph...
GET BACK TO THE SPOT, AND THE GUY TELLS ALL HIS BUDDIES HE WON, THEN LEAVES !!! I'm like WTF !! He claimed I didn't pass his till like 135mph !!! My car can't even do 135mph in 4th !!! Anyway, he got smacked up by a neon, after talking smack about neons, then thought he'd be a "cool
guy" and flip his flashers on in 2nd gear, then got smacked and had to lie to his friends, hehehe... So, a S2 SRT4 with a bored TB and STOCK DP AND EXHUAST smacked him up, hehe... He better be glad my bottles emty...
Talked a 06' STi into racing me from a dig, which was REALLY nice of the guy, since he's the first $1,000,000 AWD car ( AKA, EVO/STi ) in lakeland to have the balls to face a almost stock SRT4. Hands drop, he gets out on me by about one car-ish, and I had a few on him at the top of 3rd, and he let out as it was pretty much over at that point... Nice guy, I guess he's going to do some mods and come back out, I hope he's cool enough to keep racing it.
Then I raced the " I know I'm going to loss race" against a LS-1 Z-28 with longtubes, y-pipe, lid etc etc little things. He said he got it dyno tuned and gained 31whp resently... It was a race in 1st gear and maybe a couple RPMs in second, then he just left... He got out on me enough that I let out at the end of third. It was a good thing it wasn't a close race, a cop was pretty much watching us up the road... I went to stop and do a U-turn and as I got to about 5mph my escort goes "BBBBBAAAAAAAA"... Z-28 kept going his way. I turned around and picked my flagger up, and the cop just came by and followed us out... Anyway, I got smacked up, hehehe....
Headed out to tampa, put about 12 cars on a 99 civic Si, and beat a rather loud CRX with LS VTEC yo ( can't leave the "yo" out ). Basiclly a waste of gas... Beat up on the honda and 1.8T on the way home too, hhehehe just being a bully, hehe..

Yea but this one has driver mod included with its stage 2...He went 12.8 with no bottle :)

Not sure if what I thought was "unbalenced tires" is really tire balence or an axle about to let go... I hopped the damn thing all over Lakeland track the other night...
Vibration comes and goes with different speeds, but I swapped DRs to the back, and the vibration continues, now its just changed the speed at which it happens... Weird..
So... Who's gonna tow the broken skittle 80 miles back to Lakeland ? :D
I was thinking about selling my spot, since I'm looking at..
$60 two bottles of nitrous
$30 to race
$30 for race gas
$10 for gas there and back
$8 or whatever for my wife to get in
That's $130 to run the car, and that's IF nothing breaks, AND that doesn't include half my saturday to prep the car AND getting up at 7:30am on Sunday...
Plus fresh plugs, oil, and what ever else I can do to push a 12.49 car into the 11's...

Yep same guy...After he got beat by the skittle(skittle was not spraying btw) he hurried back to Publix told everyone that HE won and went home..

Eric, what did your car dyno at ? You said it ended up with a 31whp gain after tuning, what did you tune it with ? Where did you dyno it at ? And well, deffinately get to run again, and next time, I'll still run ya off the bottle if you haven't gotten even more stuff. Hope your tranny stays trouble free... My first mod to a auto LT-1/LS-1 would be a tranny cooler. It runs really good though, even with my next round of mods, I prob. won't be able to beat ya..

I'm still just wondering how it got tuned without any "little things", its not like you can just re-jet the carb on those..

No it is actually an X pipe, i have true duals. My car dyno'd at shity 328/335. I got it tuned and dyno'd at revxtreme by jeremy formato. i think he did an awesome job with getting power and tuning the tranny to shift a lil better. I'd love to run you at BMP in your full race trim - the nitrous though. I think it'd be a really really good run. I don't even know if I can get a 12.8 out of my car. we'll have to see one day though.
That guy in the white mustang was in fact a tool. You posted that he came back to tell his friends that he won...pssshhh what friends. none of us liked his cocky ass. i should have raced him so he could have been 0-2 that night
It got tuned with an ls1 edit....the headers messed it all up when i put them on. they actually slowed me down from an 8.5 to a 8.6 in the 1/8. the tune just fixed the problems and made it just a tad better than it was before.

Yea, I know the CEL on those cars really pisses it off, hehe. Were you able to deal with the CELs with LS-1 edit ? Or did you have to buy some O2 semis..?
Even after the CEL were gone the headers made it slower ?
LS-1s ALWAYS pull good up top, but with headers, I think they really get down. I'd love to have a 6-speed one, but my wife says its too long of a car ( and she's got a point ).

Ole, yea, you never posted dyno numbers... I made 242whp 276 torque the way the car was Saturday night.
Look at the post right before this one and i responded to all of ur questions. the headers deffinately helped a lot after the tune and no i didn't need to get o2 sims. he did it all with tuning, but now one of my front o2's is bad so thats probably hurting me a lot

How much you spend to get it tuned ?
My car ran 12.8 with 100extra horses of fuel being dumped. It was my last run, and I got excited and forgot to turn the bottle on...
I'll deffinately try to get with you let you know when I goto BMP in a few months...

True duel exhuast on a Z-28... that's nice, back in the day, it was like $500,000 to get true duels on a Z-28, hehe.
If you come out on the DRs, it'll be almost impossible for me to beat you on the street with my stock turbo and no bottle...
Hopefully Jamie will get the stang into compition mode soon and be able to play with the "big boys" soon ( well, 4 banger big boys, hehe ).
I guess I'll have to stick to racing Eric on MPG instead of MPH, hehe...

My car has never been to the track in "full race trim", last time I desided at 1am the day before going to the track and didn't do anything but add 3 gallons of gas to almost 1/2 a tank of 93oct, bolted the slicks on, and ran down the track 3 times with the stock DP dumping under the car...

I was very pleased out of my last tank that i got 19.2 mpg out of it with nothing but city driving. I bet if i drove like my dad i could get 21 out of it. haha

Yea, the SRT4 runs pretty good, and as a "import guy", I'm nothing but impressed with it. Its quick on the motor, but the nitrous really wakes it up.
Its fun to be out racing cars that 999/1000 4 bangers won't even think about, but you know all about that, hehe.
Yea, I hear the ole school teg is gonna be running good when it gets back out.
I won't be out tonight prob... But you guys know me, I normally say that, then show up, hehe.

Of course, I'm sure my car will see a dyno in the next couple of months, but prob. wait for a "dyno day" or something just to see what its putting down...

Hey now..........you know I came around you about 60-70mph.
I loved that car cause that little fucker got down from a stop and it was very refreashing to race a honda from a stop.

Come to think of it I dont think I beat a single car with a Ls1 :( ...And I should be out with the new 4cyl hottness soon...So you guys can all beat on me some more:lol:

And that's with a bottle heater, purge, and wet kit.
In my case, $300 for a wet kit, purge with IC sprayer, bottle heater, carbon fiber guage pod, nitrous presure guage, upgraded fuel solinoid, custom painted bottle, Zex voltage based WOT switch, and 100shot pills.
I never thought an LS-1 ECU would be so forgiving with a bad O2 sensor, and no maf input, hehehe...
$500 for tuning DEE'S NUTTS !!! That's a AFC and wideband, hehe !!!
And now your set-up is going to change, and you'll have to re-tune...
You'd think that dynos would be cheap so that the dyno would always be making money vs sitting 90% of the time and not making any money, and then raping the one person that came in for tuning... Like tuning is rocket science... adjust Fuel... add timing till ya see knock, then retard the timing at the RPM it knocked at... What ever... $500 is a RIP OFF, you better have been there from 8am till 4pm or something... $500 might be the going rate, but what ever, that's 2 much $$$.
coastal dyno day, $35, 3 runs, that's all I needed ( that was one run too many since I was stock, hehe ). Tune at the track or on a emty road straight road with a wideband...
I think it may have been a bit more complicated than that. take a trip to revxtreme.com and have a conversation with those guys about it. they will all explain it a lot more than i can. that 500 is for the 1st tune only. when i get new things done it'll be a lot cheaper to retune because my stuff is already on file. it was deffinately worth the money to make the car run safer and better all together.
