hey i have a problem with my civic.. every aftermarket headunit i put in, theres no power whatsoever.. and if i put stock ones in, power is just fine. do i have a blown fuse somewhere? the fuse on the radio is fine and i even replaced it too. the brand new wiring harness is fine also. im just not getting any power and when i had a stock radio in, it resets itself and i have to change channels manually. help me out!!

The resetting problem is your constant power being switched with the key instead of always on.
As far as troubleshooting...get yourself a multimeter and start testing.

Could be a problem in your stock wiring harness. Easiest solution would be to just pick up your power (constant & accessory) somewhere else (ie, your fuse box). But start by testing the power wires in your stock harness to see if that's the case.

i checked the fuses inside the cabin and didnt have any luck. i DID go look in the engine bay fuse box and found a 7.5 volt fuse blown.. that solved the problem! thanks for your help!

thats 7.5 amp and you need to at least run a 10 in there or it will blow again better yet, run another wire direct from the battery.

Yes, I think we all picked up on that ;)
Your aftermarket radio draws more current than the factory one. Hence Notlad's post above.

look at the back of the headunit - the fuse on the back needs to match or exceed the fuse in the OEM fuseblock. Its just common sense
