Official who liked Charlotte drift event/would support more at that track thread!

okay, who liked it? It was cold yes, a good ways for tampa/ft myers people to drive yes, no tire changing machine, no judging, but... it was FREEE and people got some good amounts of seat time.

There were minimal mishaps, save a few, but everything was worked out, and next time it would be MUCH better. They will have the ENTIRE track open, as this time one part of the X in the middle was closed off, because of a schedual conflict with some guys with go-karts. Next time they will try to have a tire changer, and they would have, but the track had been closed for 3 weeks prior, and the guy didn't have it there.

Overall, I liked it, everything went decently, and there will definitely be cash prizes in the future. Next time there may be an entry fee, but we will try to get something setup with this. Sorry goes out to the guys who couldn't find the track because of stupid derkas in the charlotte area, next time there will be better contact info. Thanks to all who came, I hope to see you guys show up next time.

+1 i liked the track.. wayyy better / cleaner than OSW in my opinion and 30x better than hialeah speedway... still a damn oval though errr.. definately signin up for the fast drifter series though

Oh man, its really great to see how vang is loving his SR. I hope Miles get his car fixed up, and hope that JC would just ease down on the hate of the oval tracks...it isnt so bad.
Seems not a bad event. I think OSW should invest in big tractor wheels instead of concret barriers. Much friendlier.

One thing that i liked about it over there is that I dont think i ever seen a police car while driving around charlotte and punta gorda. I call it a drift heaven area. too bad that the land elevation is all flat.

good event, even tho i didnt get a run.... damn car, still working on problem.

met some cool people and got to learn some new stuff about my car, lol.

was a good turnout for such a 'new event, new promoter' thing and the track looked fun, very wide through turns with a lower bank. Though there is no flat area around the sweepers, so don't come if you dont want to bank it. The series sounds cool, I'm hoping it takes off. I'll be there again.

it was tight, more events to come. we have to register tough. i didn't get to drift b/c i didn't want to rip my clutch that had not been broken in. i had the 240 hatch w/ sr and the mesh on the rear and dropped. i was bad ass, had alot of fun.

I live right next to englewood elementary in old englewood. Lets get in touch sometime, there's a few other 240's in englewood, we know all of em pretty much.

And about the whole qualifying thing, I think there might have to be another qualifying date, I talked to rob, and they both couldn't make it for good reasons. Next time though, we'll try to make this event bigger and better.

nice, alot of good shots, its just a same, on an oval theres just no room for mistakes. not the best invironment for learning. still, charllott is alot smoother and not as banked as OSW. but its just sucks that florida doen't have the cool venue's like out west does.

This is Chad and i Just wanted to say Thanks to EVERYONE...Bobby and I have been talking about another event on the 11th of march, Although Tandem will not be in that event..lol, Not because of the wreck, we just dont want to take chances yet.
I have pics of all the cars out there and will be posting sooooon, Takes a while to downsize and add all them. Thanks for everything guys, I know it was FREEZING..but we all had a great time, as for the go karts..I have been assured they will NOT be coming back to that track again.

I would run a oval track, but not in my S14. I dont have enough skill to be confident to avoid hitting the concrete wall.
Im currently looking for a track car for me and RacingRPS13 to use at drift events so we dont mess up our daily driving cars.
