Hey everyone, just like to let everybody know about an auto show that my group and I will be organizing for our establishment (The Edge @ 42nd St.) It will be a part of a huge carnival open to anyone, free of charge. There will be food/drinks served, as well as a bunch of carnival activities (big boxing, slip 'n slide, etc.), live bands, and 93.3 FLZ will be by to keep the entertainment interesting...

...as far as the car show is concerned, the entry fee will be $20 (as mentioned in the ad posted here) and there will be 1st-3rd trophies for the six classes listed, with $100, $50, and $25 cash prizes to go along, respectively. Since these are general and vague classes, we strictly request RSVP by March 16, so we can classify you correctly (for all those pinto-lade EXT conversions). The event will be held March 30, weather permitting. I was limited to 6 categories, so I apologize to bikers, that will not be a part of the show.

We're expecting in excess of 100 cars to show, and might have to cap the category entries if it gets too big, so RSVP early. There is no extra charge for entering multiple categories, however if we receive too many entries, we may ask that you withdraw from one or more categories. Not likely, though, as we have a large parking lot.

For now, contact me strictly via e-mail: JuiceOfTheDeuce@gmail.com, and I WILL forward a confirmation (if you do not receive one, e-mail me again, because I did not get your e-mail). Payment is not required until the show day. There will be a reservation list that WILL BE LOCKED on the 16th, no exceptions, as we have laws to adhere to.

We anticipate a big and exciting show. If you don't have a car, come out for the carnival, the show is just a part of it. ..:: FEEDBACK ::..

Forgot to mention, when the night begins, there will be an afterparty at the Greenery Pub, about 100ft. from the Edge parking lot. Carnival visitors will just cross the street to the pub and there will be an assembly there, its a very nice establishment with a decent amount of room.

thats not a bad idea. ill see if i can do an add-on separate from the six categories.

p.s. dont forget to email me you name, #, and detailed car info for you and your entire club, that way we can reserve a section of the lot for clubs to set up booths.

Hey the sound category is that gonna be more a how loud is it or how sick an install it is? b.c i got a nice install and good sound quality but i dont have the ear defing boom

im gonna be a judge and i can only speak for myself but personally i dont care how loud you can turn it up. sound quality and install are what matter to me, and i lean more toward the sound part than i guess many would.

a category for best car club has been added to the competition. there is no cash prize, but there will be a trophy presentation. there is a minimum of 4 cars for entry, however no official registration is necessary. all you need is 4 friends and a name. a website, t-shirts, club vehicle*, decals, etc. definitely help. must register club by Mar.16 also, no exceptions (as we must set up booths).

*as of now, i am allotting one parking space per club for a club vehicle (truck or van or w/e) that can will be allowed one parking space in the club's booth, free of charge. it will not be allowed into any competitive categories and will just be there to aid in club votes, unless it is entered as an independent vehicle (w/ driver and entry fee).

so show up with shirts and decals and strippers wearing your logos, it will help. remember, a nice website is a plus, but not that necessary. everything done and confirmed by the 16th though NOT NEGOTIABLE, as security has been upped in the area due to some arrests recently made.

Isn't having a car show on a Thursday kind of odd? The main problem with this you're not going to get alot groups going to it. Alot of us do work on those day. Mostly car show always, I mean always on a weekend.

im actually working on getting the event moved to Apr. 1st, which was a problem for the managers (for some reason) and was hoping that theyd change their minds by tomorrow (monday). i will update ASAP, hopefully with a new date, either Apr. 1st or 2nd.

if it was on the 30 or 31st i could probably get a large amount of people from our club to go (we will have about 50+ 3000gts/stealths in town that weekend).... but since it is our anual florida/tampa gathering that weekend we wont be able to attend (we have a schedule of events) ill keep checking this thread.... if you want more info on our club go to Florida3S.com (http://www.florida3s.com)

damn... thats a lot of cars to not attend..... how about if we did it that friday? the 31st, like right before all that stuff. for those who have work friday, i think this would be a nice reason to take off early (if they can) i can ask around about who can take off that friday. but we have a meeting this wed. to discuss the event, and i will possibly get in contact with the managers before then (couldnt do it today, b/c they werent in). there WILL be an answer by wed. night.

i know it seems kind of wierd, but we got all these damn contracts and insurance policies that have been signed for thursday, so its easier to adjust the car show than to adjust everything else.

UPDATE: RSVP extension. we are doing a pre-registration day on monday, mar. 20th between 10am-5pm. if you drop by, give your info, and leave (takes like <5min) you will get a $5 discount on your entry fee. obviously more of an advantage to people living close to USF, but thats whats up.

I just called the guy and he said he cancelled it because he hadn't organized it good enough. I told him he was going to have alot of upset people and he should have posted if he was going to cancel. He's planning on having one in the fall....I told him good luck.
