Right now i have stock exhaust and it sucks, i have blown or clogged cats, and my truck has a hard time starting because of this. i have a set of shorty headers by gibson that i am getting installed, and i want to upgrade the cat's also. i want turn down pipes before the axle, and a performance muffler that sounds bad(as in good) but not red neck(no offence). the cats must handle a 5.3 V8 and N2O. so i need them bigger than normal with bigger cores, but will this affect the way my truck runs or starts. please give me some ideas:banana:

Why do you want to keep the cats?

There are some pretty nice systems for the trucks. Also, why do you want turn downs?

dont I need to have cats b/c of the O2's. and i want turn down because i dont want full length exhaust, It sounds better to me. I might get tips ran in front of the right tire, but i have to install my body kit first, ill get turn downs now and when i install my body kit ill get tips

Now, you dont need the cats. You can get O2 simms (simulators) to put in the harness that lies to the computer telling it the rear O2s are there and working. Also, if you have a tune done ( a dyno tune ) they can turn the code off so it doesnt set.

I was meaning a dyno tune. All the hand held programmers are junk.

I would get dynomax welded series for a clean yet throaty sound. Also if you MUST get cats get the newer style metal matrix cats. A bit pricier but well worth it in flow. If you end up getting off the shelf "perforamnce" cats they are morethan likely just regular cats and will end up ruining them alot quicker than the stockers.
