The engine is a 350 5.7L Diesel, LF9 block, 22.5:1 ratio, 4.067 bore x 3.385 stroke. 80's production. Came in Oldsmobiles and Pickups.
The head gasket is blown because i have air bubbling out of the thermostat hole as the engine runs with the water pump disconnected. It has also overheated a couple times.
I want to check the compression of each cylinder, but I can't find a spec on the compression pressure, just that it has a 22.5:1 ratio.
Anyone know of hand the compression pressure specs?
I will probably just replace all head gaskets with copper head gaskets and use ARP head studs, so that this problem will not arise again for a very long time.
Anyone know of a supplier of copper head gaskets for this engine?
