first off how much power are u looking to get out of it?will it be more of a track engine,street/strip or just street.also what type of rpm range are u looking for it to run in.theres alot ways to go with a chevy engine.

ya take those 305heads and shave them port and polish or do a 383 stroker that is the way to go that is real power with a beautiful sound also what are you putting it in

I would toss the 305 heads.get a set of darts, pro topline, edelbroke u dont even have to get aluminum heads but i would.get a dual plan intake,it works good for the hp level u want.i think holley or edelbroke makes a top end kit that will come with everthing u need to get that hp level.
but it also all depends on how much your looking to spend

for a good shave and porting and polish its going to run u the same as what u could get a set of after market heads.i would get a set of world products steal heads.
i just got my full blown race heads back from the shop and it cost me 288 for them to angle mill my heads and correct the head bolts and intake face.

yea, you dont need anything outrageous if you want just some sound.
you could even just keep the 350 the way it is, toss in new cam bearings and go with a milder cam, like 218/224 in the upper 400's lift, and on a 110lsa. that will give you the chop your lookin for.
if your still in search of power, then go a bit bigger on the cam, some fuelie heads if you can find them, and maybe a victor jr intake manifold. thatll add a little grunt.

Woah... no! Dont ever use 305 heads on a 350+. Yes, it will bump the compression, but the runners are smaller than a 350 head and will starve the motor and actually make less power.
