You are looking at a 1972 Buick GS 455 Convertible. This is not a numbers matching 455, it is a GS350 made into a GS455. This car has been superbly taken care of and garaged always. It drives beautifully and runs perfect. The big block doesnt skip a note and accelerates smoothly from idle to cruising speed. The motor is built to the following specs and was built in 1999. 455 block bored to 462, Federal Mogul .30 over Pistons 9.8 to 1 compression, rods with polished beams, shot-peened and h.d. bolts, balanced rotating assembly, cams Poston GS 112a hydraulic with .472 lift intake and .477 lift exhaust, heads are STG-1 conversions with street strip porting and stainless valves netting between 250 to 260 cfm at 28 inches, block has internal oil mods relocating cam brg. oil holes to the 4 o'clock position for better load carrying capacity, larger oil passages, h.p. oil pump with booster plate, 5/8 p/u tube and baffles oil pan, valve train has 3/8 adjustable pushrods, dual springs, chrome moly rocker shafts, ignition is Petronix ignitor points conversion kit, dizzy re-curved for total advance of 34 to 36 degrees all in by 2200 rpms, Fel-Pro gaskets used and neoprene seals. The estimated Horsepower is 450 to 470. Other new parts included in this build are Edelbrock aluminum intake, 750 cfm carb, new exhaust manifolds, wires, starter, 224R transmission, L/U convertor and new motor mounts. In 2000 the rear end was replaced with a 12 bolt Eaton posi with Moser axles and 3.55 gears. The radiator was replaced in 2004. This Buick was purchased originally at Chick Norton Buick in Tulsa, Oklahoma and came to here from Pensacola and looks every bit a Florida car. Overall this car gets a firm 8 out of 10. Documentation from the previous owner and myself will be provided. The convertible top is brand new, full size spare in the trunk, GS mats, GS trunk mat. The paint is in great shape but is not flawless. The interior is close to perfect.
