EDIT*** $4000 w/ new chain, lowering link, extensions

Before I dump a bunch of money into this bike to lower, stretch, polish, and paint it Im going to see if anyone wants to make me change my mind.

2000 Yamaha R6 with 11,043 miles. Bike is painted all white. As far as I know its never been laid down. It has a full exhaust, yoshi carbon muffler and xxx header, and a new jet kit. Runs perfect and its going to the mechanic tomorrow or next week to get the carbs cleaned and adjusted, oil and plugs changed. comes with white/silver helmet

Flaws: one small scratch on the gas tank and one on the lower right fairing, both of which happened while being serviced at a local shop. A couple odd spots on the tank which just look like the paints a bit oxidized. front plastic is broken about 2 inches from the edge, where the mirror bolts up (that mirror has been removed). Im getting a new one next week or so if no one wants the bike or you can just get the mirror eliminators and cover it up

If anyone is interested email me at XDSMX@aol.com

I heard this bike has a rebuilt title, is that true?

ADAM
01-29-2006, 01:18 PM
Indeed it does. Bike had a chrome frame at some point in time and it was exchanged for a new Yamaha frame. As everyone knows new frames are vinless and therefore the bike couldnt be registered as original - hence the title situation. any buyer is more than welcome to have it inspected for any damage of any kind at any shop.

I did not back out of the deal. Not many people are going to sit at the DMV and wait over 2 hours so you can verify that the title is legit. 99.99999% of things sold the seller just signs the title and receives the funds. I was kind enough to wait over an hour but just couldnt wait any longer

Bike will be lowered and stretched this weekend FYI

I know someone who swaped frames on a bike with a new frame, just had it stamped and then chromed and it didnt affect the title or make it "rebuilt status".
what happened to the old frame? Was it destroyed after it was switched? just curious.

New frame was issued a vin sticker by the DMV. its good to go.

If you get offered $3500 you better take it and run because if that bike has a new frame it probably has a new speedometer. Id keep it and do what you are going to do with that probably stolen bike.

ADAM

Dont make assumptions like that on something you know nothing about, its kinda rude. DMV checks all numbers before issuing a title in these situations. bike is 100% legal and has a valid plate on it now.

Ive had at least 5 $3500 offers all of which were turned down. Im not a huge fan of mustangs so if I said "If someone offers you $5000 for your car youd be stupid not to accept it" you'd probably get offended.

Im not saying you stole it but a new frame with a clean title is not that hard to swap, you said you werent the only owner new frame might equal new speedo many of them are on ebay you dont know whats been done to it.

just check the number on the motor. That will be the original vin number. a dmv could tell you if its stolen or not. regardless, if he got a new vin for his new frame from the DMV, they should of asked for the engine vin and made sure that wasnt stolen. the dmv wouldnt let you register stolen bikes. there not that dumb.

Like I said all numbers have been ran. The previous owner was a friend. Im comfortable with the bikes no wrecks/original speedo backround
