As you probably remember, we did a collection in October at Quaker Steak & Lube to collect some items to send over to the troops for the Holidays. Thank you to everyone who donated the items or money for shipping. It was very much appreciated. TR/TF, together with a few family friends ended up putting together over a hundred stockings for the troops.

I just wanted to share some of the pictures we received of the soldiers opening the stockings and some of the "thank you" emails we received as well.

Thank you again to everyone who participated. You definitely made the Holidays more enjoyable for the troops away from home. I'd like to send them a link to this thread as well so they can see all of your responses.

"I wish to say thank you to all of you for putting together the stockings we received. It really helps to have such things done for us during this time of year and to know that we are thought of by those at home."
Sincerely,

"I would like to thank you all for your support. The Christmas stockings for our RCAG in Kandahar District, Afghanistan, brought a little bit of
home to all of us. All of us from northern Florida (Kentucky) appreciate your effort."

This is the first time ive ever been able to see the end result of a good deed like that. Thank you, Frances, for putting this up to let people know that their help is not in vain. Im glad that TF was able to really do something nice for those guys, they deserve every bit of it.

It is great to see you all do stuff like this. We get stuff from people all over the country here in Iraq, and recently got some stuff from Armwood H.S. in Seffner, which is nice to see since there are som ppl that went there here with us, a lot of us are from Brandon area as well. I just wrote back to some 4th graders, kids are the best to get stuff from b/c they just make you laugh and you can forget about here. Trust me, there is an end result to sending care packages. We had some presents wrapped and we even got a tree so it wasnt all that bad.
