I "try" to autoX the merkur. Plus I want to get it out one last time before I strip it down. I order MegaSquirt and it should be at my house when I get back from Michigan. I get back on the 30th we will have to go out for a beer sometime or do something. Havent seen you in a long time.

I think ill actually be down in Ft. Myers. An old high school buddy is heading to the event there, and I'm gonna try to help him out. Also, figure it's decent practice on concrete since I haven't run Ft. Myers in like 2 years and the National Tour is in Feb.

I'm hoping to run on the 7th. Will it be possible to do my worker assignments, get some runs in and leave by around 1:30 or so? I've got to be in Tarpon Springs around 2:00 for a meeting.

Yes.
06 Imapala. If I have the cash I might do it for shits and giggles, jack the tire pressure up to 50 PSI.
I wish I had my car, but alas, it was destroyed by a driver in an SUV :(

Sorry to hear about the Stang, Mars. You can have fun while proudly carrying on the tradition of "NMC Racing". People do it all the time.

At the rally-x I did back in, oh, I think it was early October, somebody told me a story of these 2 guys who rented a car with the insurance, drove it to the rally-x (it might have been the previous one), beat the absolute crap out of it, and drove it back. Didn't even wash it, just returned it.
My kind of people, I tell you whut. :crack:

Is there a charge if I just want to come and spectate?
I'd like to enter my '00 Si in one of these next up-n'-comming events ........Since it's all suspensioned up ;) , But I'd love to see some others take the track first.
Can someone PM me the steps/price?
Thanks, -Jeff

Better yet, be there by 8:30. Bring $30 to register. Let them know it's your first time and that you'd like to watch and maybe ride with some pros for a bit before you go out. They'll take care of you. There are even instructors available to go out with you if you want it.
Or, if you're a wuss... you can sit and watch for free. :P
Autocross is not a spectator sport.

Anyone remember the Protege Rental I had 2 1/2 years ago. Towed the rear tires out to Max, Put a set of Miata wheels with R comps on the front, Disconnected the Intakeand duct taped the Air Mass Meter to the throttle body (hey it was a good seal) disconnected the exhaust after the cat and Brought it down to Gainesville for an Autox weekend. Let a host of people do laps in it (including Jesse). Would have continued lapping but We corded my R comps on the front. Let Jim and Jesse borrow it to go to lunch, They got back and told me that driving in the grass at 60 was fun and they figured out how to make it chirp every gear (automatic).
Oh how I miss that car.

Looks like it should be spectacular weather - 64 degrees and sunny on Sunday. Probably want to bring a jacket for the morning, but it should be awesome once the sun comes out!
Should be fun! The Miata is all ready. Fresh Azenis, new (used) steering wheel, fresh oil change... Yay! :-)
See you all there!
Ill be out there watching due to lack of a vehilce with Rales, ill be snapping some photos also.

I was going to go both days, but I'll probably give Sunday a miss now and only go Sat., what with my needy freelance clients.
Sunday or no Sunday, i just hope this is the end of my no autox streak... Anyone else going out Sat morning? Supposed to be 35˚

Damn. I knew that 50.000 was too good to be true.
Still, though, I had a great time. Brooksville is a really nice site. Anyone know if there will be more pictures posted anywhere?
