Ive always gone through wholesalers to get it. As far as an alternative ive heard of people using the rubberized roofing material found at home depot. Supposedly yeild great results, Ive never heard it personaly though.

Most people "deadin" there car for one of 2 reasons, It improves sq and in some cases spl. And too much rattles just sounds horrable from the out side. If you loud enough you dont need rattles to impress people. Eliminating road noise mightr also be a concern. Now flexing windsheilds thats a whole other story :D

I don't know about you guys, but I dont "deadin" my ride. I do on occasion spell check my posts when I'm passing myself off as a professional box builder (http://www.tamparacing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=278954) just to make sure I dont sound "horrable" ;)

rattle sounds bad,not at 30hz.plus it scares the shit of people.and apperently you have never watched ur doors flex,or ur roof move enough to have dents in it.

Ok so mabee deadin isnt the correct spelling but people slip up every once in a while. Lets also not question my skill as MY car is not the autozone special lookin neon lights, and pre fab crap ok. Stop dissing me and my work and grow freakin up! I have been nice up until now and im getting tired of it. TR is a place to come and talk about anything car related and be friendly. Not a place to come and be a sarcastic little snot nose punk! Sorry to get off track. To those who actually know what they are doing in the car audio world dynamat helps out wonders, No its not cheap but there are other alternatives. Its all about trial and error and a few trips to a hardware store. After all how do ya think people found the alternatives?

Oh i know what rattles can do and yes i have had my share of rattles. My current install does a legal 148.9 on the new termlab. 138 with only a 26hz test tone. I can flex my windsheild almost an inch... Rattles are cool but they do get anoying if theres too much. Like when you hear more rattles than bass. You can never 100% completly get rid of rattles. but you sure can try.

i think you have rattle and door flex confused.rattle is what most the people on the websites 2 12s n the back of their honda hatch do.door flex,is when you have 2 poweramper Xpower2 18,or 4 volfenhaug 12s(yes i said volfenhaug,a really good sub in a ported box)of an old school earthquake d2 shredder.that is what causes ur doors to flex a couple inches not rattle.

He was just trying to play around, jeez, taking things a lil too much to heart. Its just a flippin msg. Dalton is far from a snot nose punk. lol
Anyways, Yea there are altenatives. I prefer the good stuff that you have to heat up to form fit. Weight from dynamat will help prevent vibration and door rattles. Trunk rattle is another beast altogether.
Who ever said rattles are cool should be shot in the foot. Rattles don't prove anything accept how to NOT do it. a nice sounding car has little if any rattle.

high40s??gee,my truck did a 147.1 playin music on the new meter so,umm yesi know what i am talking about.also,i worked at sound express n tampa where we were at world finals 3 years in a row,and Chris Audio for chris ford, who was a world champion in extreme 1-2,in 93.i have also worked at many local shops near me.so,how many 40 cube boxes for 4 15s have you ever built?? GOT JUGGS????
irupp33
12-30-2005, 11:42 PM
Yeah my high 40's score was acieved using bottom of the line lanzar audio subs. were talkin $35 a sub cheap. I wasnt refering to everybody either because i know there are some decent people on here. 40 cubes hmmmm not for my truck personally. Biggest box that has been in there was a 32 cube box for 2 matts juggernaut 15's. Thats pretty much the biggest box to fit in my rodeo comfortably.

wow,32 cubes is a bout 12 cubes too big,but what would i know?o yea,i am a former member of team mmats.

12-31-2005, 08:13 PM
No 32 cubes yeilded perfect results, It was a multi chamber ported box. How about people who go with 50 cube walls for 2 beyon audio inhuman 18's? would you tell them there box is too big 2?

01-01-2006, 04:05 PM
consi9dering i had a box for 2 poweramper xpower2 18s in a 30 cube box,i would.those specs came from ed eason, and there are maybe 2 people in the tampa bay area that can call him wrong.in case no one knows of ed.team earthquake,he used to run neck n neck with the bronco at world finals every year.

scrapin_honda

i bet my skillz against any installer in tampa.. and i work at bb
i have done the spl thing with a 164.4 system 16-12's on 1000 watt system
In Colorado i made a great living at $800.00 + a week doing installs - part time
As i have stated before this area does not pay installers for shit - so i changed pofessions.. now do it for fun and $15.00 an hour doing simple stuff - and still get the discount

id be impressed if we hadnt had a car with 2 15s that used to do consistant 164s.if you were that good, you would work at devine sounds or sound express or e n e car audio, not best buy.

almas truck had the badass kicker original l7g.the truck is built for sq now under jbl and is less than impressive.

My enitre roof and trunk have 2 layers of dynamat, before I had that done a lot of the pressure was being released in the roof, now my back windows almost push themselves out and my trunk alomst pushes off the latch. There's a little more rattling on the outside now but a lot better clarity on the inside.
scrapin_honda
01-02-2006, 07:37 PM
ok,spl is not about clarity, its about being loud.and if u really were doing mid 50s out the trunk,ur trunk wouldnt be rattling.and dynamat absorbs sound too.

OH I'm sorry, I guess I know absolutely nothing about my own car. You obviously know everything there is to know about car audio. So everybody if you have any further questions screw best buy, circuit city, or any other audio shop just come ask this guy, cause whatever you thought you knew was wrong, cause this guy has all the answers about everything audio. I don't care if the head tech for every brand of car audio tells you something, screw'em they're wrong. Just log on here and this guy will tell you every excact answer, and don't dare second guess him either.

WOW Typical newb response, where the fuck have I been all these days?
First off, if you own a honda and have a decent system...I hope do god your deadening it because hondas sound like complete ass with undeaded trunks. ESS. if its "scrappin"
Sound deadening not only increases SQ and spl, it also helps you from looking like a dumbass when driving down the road. What if a car drove by with his system blaring reggaeton and the trunk the going ZzZZzz ZZZzzzZ outta control? Not cool.
My trunk on the other hand has 4 layers of edead on the rear hatch and 2 layers of edead everywhere else. I have little to no rattle and just loud bass. If your gonna do it, do it right

Really.. This is out of control.
