they will still run all the bracket classes on the other 3 fridays in the month.instead of them running just king of the strip, king of the street and stock suspension with the bracket cars.u get all 3 at one event with no bracket cars.it works out alot better i think also more cars will be there.

I personally like that layout better. I really liked heads up madness and this will be similar with all the big boys coming out play. Also save me some admission as I only have to pay 1 time instead of like 3.

i think they need to let n/a cars run in the stock suspension class maybe like 2800# for a small block and 3000# for a big block.it would bring more cars to the class and make for some good racing.i'm also saying this because i'm doing a n/a sbc combo and i'm a heads up person and would much rather run in a heads up format then having to bracket race the car or run it only on wensdays

good luck on getting the weight break ghost, we were pushing for a weight break of 3000lbs (or less if they would've gave it to us) for small block NOS cars, but they wouldn't budge on it at all, also asked if anything then a max of a 28x10.5 (no W) slick, but again no help.. I had to run 220lbs of lead in my car in order to BARELY make the 3200lbs... You'd have to get the OK from most in the class and then take it to Todd..

yeah i think there floating around the new rules witch sb 3200 and bb 3400 now.from what the et calculators said with the power and weight i should be able to run 5.40s-5.60s depending on weight.i dont see why all the n2o and turbo guys would be scared of a lil old 434 with 23 degree heads thats n/a..

It would be nice to see 2800# on N/A small blocks, 3000# on N/A big blocks, 3200# on small blocks with power adders, and 3400# on big blocks with power adders. Limiting the tires to true 28 X 10.5's and any size radial that will fit in the stock, unaltered wheel well too. True stock suspension would be nice as well, but that might be asking too much.

I would like to run in the Stock Suspension class, even though I know I wouldn't be real competitive, but would like to just the same. Getting up to 3200# for me would be just like Derek, I would have to add almost 300# just to make weight at the current rules.

I'm not sure how responsive Todd is going to be towards rule changes. We talked to him last year and he didn't seem like he wanted to talk about it.

I will most likely be there to race in the Stock Suspension class no matter how the rules turn out. I might be "first-round-fodder", but as long as I have some fun, that's all I care about. :)

yeah i'm right there with u on that.they say car count ant high enough this would bring in alot more cars so there could be a better pay out.and some lil people could run 2.

As a spectator, I'm happy to see the new format because I'll definitely be going regularly.

Thinking about it from the track's perspective though, that will kill the spectator turnout on 3 fridays of every month when its bracket only. Lets hope they make it up on the heads up show.

They are still bracket racing every Friday night, on the heads up night it wont be for points, but they will still run for money.

I know, I was there for the season finally. But like I said, will they draw 3 times as many spectators for the heads up show than they do now? Look at it this way, how many people were going every week to the heads-up show. Now, they only have to go one week, meaning the track is losing 2/3rds of that persons gate fee.

I might actually go watch now since it is not spread so thin over many other dates.

same here. Could never figure out which one I wanted to watch most and now I just have to go and get to see all 3. I always waited until they ran all togehter, only time I went.

Stock Suspension rules are up on the Sunshine website:

Non W 28 X 10.5 slicks or any size radial
Coil-overs are OK
3200lbs minimum

Payout is more, but it costs more to enter as well:

$800 win
$350 runner-up
$125 semi
$75 1/4

$90 entry fee

nope, but at least they're limiting the tire size, last year you could run a "W" or a taller tire as well..
now whether or not they check for the tire size is another issue...

I was talking with Walt on Monday and he said that he was going to be talking with Todd to see if he would consider taking some weight off the small blocks. I sent him an E-mail on the subject, but never got a response.

I am going to scale my car next week and see how many hundreds of pounds I am going to have to add to make weight, just to make me slower than I already am.

Suicidal Racing

yeah i wish they would of did the n/a weight breaks to.but i didn't even get a responce for that idea when i emailed sunshine.it would of been badass.alot more cars could show up and run.but i'm sure some of these n2o and turbo guys would be pissed off if a n/a small block car beat them.

I never got a response when I E-mailed Sunshine either. Guess they don't care what the racers think. :(

lil info pro/nmca might be running an outlaw drag radial class.they are looking for a sponcer right now for the class.i'm not sure if u where on there site trying to get them to forum the class.but if they do do it it is going to be one nasty and fast class.the rules we came up with where like a spin off on orlandos rules.
