just incase no one followed the jp vs USA this last weekend, JR won, being the 1st american to win a D1 event, and made $5k from D1.
whoever says americans arent up to par with JP for drifting yet, has been proven wrong
all in a mustang too

And there are far better FD drivers than JR IMO. This should shut the fanboys up (for a week or so).

dont know about far better, he is pretty bad ass....
just didnt do that great at atlanta, but i went to 3 more races on the tour last year, hes def good.
hrmm... in all the d1 clips and whatnot I have come across, it seems like the d1 drivers carry a lot more speed and whatnot, and just seem generally a level above the FD drivers... I saw hubinette get his ass handed to him in the team orange car... ahh but I haven't seen very recent FD vids or anything... so very could happen haha...

jr is a good driver. congrats to him.
wheres the vid's at?
I mistook the team orange car for Nishida's car, it was a vid of nishida vs hubinette from an FD event earlier in the year I guess. I looked for the vid, and found it again, but the link was broken, see if it works for you guys:

Hubinette did get passed pretty hard in that vid though... sorry, im dumb, I'll shuddup now

Vaughn pretty much earned it, but Sakuma honestly beat him in the round that was determined to be 'even' and which led to the 'one more time'. In the sudden death battle Vaughn definitely beat Sakuma.
I think the D1 judges honestly tilt the tables toward the American drivers, but after this year it's really not necessary. Most of the Japanese drivers still are better but have been driving longer so it's to be expected.
At last years USA vs Japan, the only American who proceeded far and deserved it was Forsberg, I was there and saw it all in person.

JR is so awesome, I liked him better when he drove his S13, but I'm glad he won. He's the definition of a badass.

It's amazing, the first non-japanese guy who win a D1 contest. Lot of Respect, he beat Kazama :-o
