as stated in other threads, i work at circuit city and do not want to venture out to other brands due to my discount here...
what would you guys choose? infinity, polk, mtx or kicker??
If i do inifity they will be the kappa perfects, polk will most likely be momo's, mtx itll be 5500 or 7500's, and i doubt ill even go kicker, its just an option lol..
I listen to alot of rock and punkish stuff, so i want somthing that hits really hard, and is pretty acurate.. i dont care if itll hit 109234 db's playing little jon

If you're going to do a CC system, I'd have to recommend Infinity for the overall value. Polk are great, just a bit over priced for their quality. Never liked MTX or Kicker.

What Mtx Subs Ccan You Get - They Have Many Lines?

Well if you're putting subs in your mustang I recomend 2 Kicker Solobaric L7 10's or 12's, with an MTX 1501 class D monoblock amp. The new L7's are pound for pund some of the best subs I've ever owned. I had a Ram regular cab with 2 L7 10's and pounded out 121 db's, I now have Magnum w/ 2 15 L7's and I pound out 160 bd's. A lot of it has to do with your head unit too. If you don't have a good head unit nothing else will fall in place. I recomend a high end kenwood or alpine head unit, they're a little expensive but very worth the money. Do not use anything but a monoblock amp.

It's pretty much a tossup between the top of the line Kicker and top of the line MTX...I lean towards the MTX 8500 series tho...the L7's thump a little too much for my taste while the MTX sound cleaner

honestly i doubt ill go kicker.. there just very sloppy and they dont hit for shit, they get really loud... but i dont care about that.. its mainly between infinity and mtx really.. itll be the kappa's or 7500's more then likely

Kick Are Nice Drivers For The First Couple Months - Then There Surrounds And Spiders Weaken And Bass Gets Sloppy-
Mtx Makes A Great Driver - Dont Know There New Drivers Real Well But I Have Used The Blue Thunders And Black & Golds With Great Success.. (mtx Makes Baskets For 50% Of The Speakers Out There) I Would Do 2 10's Molded Into The Spare Tier Well, With The Amp Mounted On Top
A Big Molex Quick Disconnect - Pull The Subs And Amp For When Your At The Track -

Well I don't know what L7's you listend to but I'm pretty sure that any who sits in my car when I turn it says they can feel there ear drums compress and their heart beat damn near out their chest. But that's neither here nor there, the only complaint I can make is that my amp doesn't have a low enough sub sonic filter and my subs will sometimes make popping noise when there's a low bass line and a hard bass line together. Nex to a good head unit and amp, the nex biggest factor is the box, wrong box size = horrible sound. Not enough air space and it sounds muffled to much air space and it bottoms out.

Also my car does 160 db's, at 170 it can make the heart stop.

Dude I Heard Your Car At Track Day, Nice Sound- Have You Had It On A Meter?
160 Db Is Loud, I Have Never Seen 2 15's Come Close To 160 Db,
I Think The Pop Your Talking About Is Your Amp Is Clipping, Loosing Control Of The Drivers And Then Gaining It Back, Try The Ground Up Grades That Other Threads Have Been Talking About, Maybe Add Another Battery Or A Couple Of Caps....
Again You Are Correct A Cheap Sub In Correctly Built Size Box Will Sound Good. A Great Sub In A Poorly Designed Box Will Sound Like Pooooooo......
That Is Why I Use Bass Box Pro On Every Box I Build.....

Well I have the largest dry cell you can get so getting consistent power to the amp is not an issue I had it looked at they said it was the sub sonic filter not being strong enough to handle it. I'm probably gonna eventually upgrade to MTX2805 or 3100 class D mono to compensate.

i remember hearing yours and i never said that kicker didnt make loud stuff, but i also noticed at the track that you were slamming rap... i listen to alot of rock and punk... i think i stated in another thread how if i was into rap, i would go kicker no matter what, they SLAM! there just not very responcive and they get sloppy when they try to hit the fast bass notes that rock music tends to put out..

now the idea about the 2 mtx's was good.. im going to look more into that, thanks!

kicker is also very deep bass, which is again, awesome for rap... just not really my styel of music as much
