I just bought some Koni's and Eibach springs. If I decide later on that I want to change out the springs for one's with different rates, is that possible?
I know it's possible with coilovers but I was not so sure about springs alone.

Sounds like it should be as easy as putting the ones you just bought on. Are you doing the work yourself?

Yes, the plan is to install them myself.
What I meant was, I know many spring manufacturers make custom springs with custom spring rates; those can be used in coilovers. But I wondered if they could be used in non coilover systems as well.

You can order springs with any specs you want... I know Tein offers a ton of different length/diameter/rate combinations. The trick is you have to know the inside diameter, free length, and spring rate so they'll fit the shocks and give you the combination of ride height, ride quality, and handling you want. The ID is easy, but the length and rate both affect how low the car will sit. And I don't have any idea how to calculate that, heh.
It's just a lot easier to order springs from a company that's done all the research for you. :-)

you could always hook up some ground control coilovers up to the koni's.

Mofugga- is that possible? I was thinking that because I know Ground Controls are essentially my setup, just with the coilover sleeve. I wonder if it woudl be possible to buy just the sleeve...

The springs you have are not the same springs you'd use with a GC coilover setup. The "off-the-shelf" stock replacement Eibachs that you have will be the same "shape" as your stock springs. The GC kit uses 2.5" diameter race springs.

Loren- would my Koni's work with the GC's? From my understanding, I would just have to purchase the GC kit with the springs of the desired rate that I wanted, and re-use my Koni's..correct?

that is correct, it involves a little work tho, cutting the perches off the strut housing & fun stuff like that

The easiest way to find out is to call GC and ask. :-)

My guess NO, Odds are the OEM spring in there is not a commonly used size (hence the reason most people change to coilovers). You probably have an inside diameter of 4 inches or so. Unlikely to find a spring in that particular size. If you do, your spring rates will likely be very limited. Most common ID sizes are 2.5 inch , 2.25 inch , 60mm etc. All the very common ones are very small.
Summit racing has a wide selection of spring rates and sizes. Try them.
