Green turbo Cavy vs my 2.0 WRX

I saw this cavalier at trackday yesterday night, the announcer said it was a ecotec boosted cavalier.....:dunno: Anyway, I left the track and headed home.... I am not sure what times he was running.

Well I was on I75 and he pulls up next to me, we match speeds......I would say about 60 mph maybe a little lower. I ease into the throttle and he hits it, I follow and go WOT. I put about 2 cars maybe 1 1/2 by mid 4th and we shut down. At mid fourth EM detected knock and automatically pulls 2 degrees timing until the car is turned off.

So, next run (me with -2 degrees timing) we match speeds again at about 50-55 mph. I honk it off, we are dead even through 3rd and still even at the beginning of 4th gear around 85mph..... then I start pulling away slowly. I had about 1 car on him by 110-115 or so and proceeded to pull but he may have let off at that point:dunno: Anyway, guy gave me a thumbs up and was a good sport. Thanks for the runs. He is probably on here since it was at TR trackday!

Really? Because I think my car is only good for a 12.7-12.9 from a dig on my setup. So, I guess that sounds about right. Drive train loss is a MF with AWD ;)

i broke my middle finger but the surgeon gave me a huge cast. basically a female driver took a left turn in front of my gsxr 1000 travelling at 60 mph.

I raced him at the track.. I ran a 13.7 i believe and beat him... but his car was not to bad, seemed pretty clean for a cavalier

That Cavalier is OHV pushrod motor and it is not Ecotec there are only 2 and soon to be 3 Ecos running around mine, a red one in Tampa and T3/T4 soon to be (blue one).
I know the kid has a .63 A/R and 70 trim to big for that motor and only running 7-8 psi.
I see that car in low 14's as that is the best he ran so far.

My car you will rarely see anywhere else but in St Pete and Clearwater, unless I am at GIS or Bradenton going home.

Well the announcer at the track specifically said he was running a 2.2 ecotec turbo motor. :dunno: But since you know every ecotec motor and owner in the Tampa/clearwater area, I guess your right.
Anyway, if he ran low 14 then that explains why I walked away from him so bad on the 1st run and also pulled away from him up top with my timing retard 2 degrees on the second run ;) This car wasn't very fast, although I think his times were due to bad launches and low pro tires. Either way, I would have destroyed him from a dig. Also, if he has a 70 trim turbo, I would think he would have had more for me on the top end:dunno:

He wanted to sell me his 60-1 compressor housing when he swithced and I saw it but that is what I already have.

he ran 14.2 best at the track on 10lbs i think. he's a buddy of mine. like 57trim said his car is not ecotec.
