Default Ext. Wastegate question

I just installed my external wastegate, but I don't know where the two lines are going to. On the internal gate, the vacuum line went to my boost controller. So im sure one goes there but not sure about the other one. Any help would be appreciated. I ran a hose from the bottom nipple on the wg to the EBC solenoid.

Another question. What is it supposed to sound like? I test drove it and as soon as it got into boost, there was a very loud, almost grinding sound. Also, it was overboosting pretty bad.

bottom port of wg goes to any boost pressure source before the throttle body.. top port goes to COM port on selenoid. Change the nipple on the other side of the selenoid from NO to NC... it will work in reverse if you dont do this... BAD... BOOM..

OK, I just did this and I still have the same problem. Its overboosting bad. I have it set at .5 bar and it goes up to around 1.05 bar. Is there any kind of adjustment on the wg itself? Also, when NBS welded the flange on my manifold, they used a 1.5 inch pipe b/w the flange and the manifold. So, the pipe actually slides up and is welded on the inside of the flange. I thought there would be plenty of room for air to pass, but now I'm thinking this could be the problem. Thanks for the help.

I am using a Tial 38mm. Are you talking about on the boost controller solenoid? If so, there was no plug on the NC port. Am I supposed to plug the NO port on the solenoid now that I switched? Also when switching from the NO to NC port, was there anything else I was supposed to do other than just moving the nipple? Thanks again for the help.

make sure that your nc is coming from intake manifold or positive pressure source (like turbo compressor outlet). make sure the no is not capped like John said... what is the spring pressure on the wastegate you got ? it should be listed on the box... most likely it is .9 or 1.1 bar which is the minimum amount of boost you can run (around what you said you are running)

The NO is not capped. On the wg box, it says .5 bar for the spring pressure. I bought this wastegate from you at XAT. You had it set aside b/c a customer did not need it. Maybe the spring was switched to a stiffer one. I'll check what spring is in it. Thanks

I checked the spring. It is the green one. Does any one know off hand what pressure it is. Thanks again.
