Doesn't it seem rather strange that all of the tires on the cars weren't dry-rotted?

hmmmmm... seems a little fishy.

But a very nice find though. I wish I was the guy to stumble upon them.:-o

The father of one of the guys I work with just recently died, and now he has a barn full of 1950-80 Ford parts in West Virginia to sell. He had been trying to get his dad to sell it before he passed but he did'nt want to get rid of it. Now it looks like he'll have to do something like this to get rid of it all.

The short version of the story is that the person who owned all this stuff, Don, had a dad who owned a Chevy dealership. Dad died and Don got the business. Don was a little offbeat and spent time at the dealership but didn't really run it. But he did get a big paycheck. Since Don never got married or had kids and lived in a little run down house you've got the perfect reciepe for a car hoarding fool.

Anyway, Don had all this stuff stored in buildings owned by the dealership. When he sold the dealership in the early 80's he put everything in 21 different semi trailers. One day someone tried breaking into 1 so he then welded all the doors shut and parked the trailers in 21 different locations around the city and there they sat for over 20 years.

Earlier this year Don died and his sister was named executor of his estate. Not wanting to mess with this for ages, she worked a deal with the company on that website to buy everything as a package for 1 million in cash. From people I've spoken to who have seen this stuff in person they figure there is easily 3-5 million worth of cars and parts.

In addition to the Yenko Camaro shown, there is also a Yenko Nova in the group. Plus, if you notice in one of the pics there is a yellow engine block sitting on the floor. It hasn't been confirmed yet but since everything seems to be original GM parts it is quite likely thats an original Baldwin Motion BBC. There are also supposed to be tons of GM high perfomance intakes, carbs, fuel injections units, etc. Along with original fenders, weatherstripping, wheels, trim rings, you name it. And all in mass quanity to boot. It's going to take someone a long, long time to figure out what is all here.

A Yenko Nova would be cool.

Muscle Car Review had a small article a couple years ago about a old speed shop from the 60's and 70's that had closed 30 years ago and was left in limbo. There was pictures of complete sets of the old Hurst wheels with the cans!
