Transmission is a T5 from a 2.8 Camaro.

Were gonna have to widen the tunnel a bit and the original box steering had to go to fit the motor. Were going to use an S13 rack with a custom column. Also the brake system on the 2002 is very interesting. The pedal box is floor mounted so the brake rod is a pull type, which then cantilevers into the booster to become a push type. I think we might mount the booster in the back seat using the pull linkage. Overall the project is off to a smooth start though. Motor fits fairly well for such a small car, it's pretty light too, and we already have a bolt-up transmission (this frustrates me to no end considering my transmission adapter fiasco on my own car).

Cheers,
Sean

So the Aurora motor has the GM 60 degree bellhousing pattern? Interesting.

Looks like a good project. My best friend in high school had a 75. We swapped a 320 motor and 5 speed into it. Its the best handling car I've ever been in. That car was TON'S of fun!

Good handling with the 320 motor right? Just curious cause the Aurora/Northstar is actually lighter than BMW's small six engines so thus far I havent been worried about the motor being too heavy. This little car actually has a longer wheelbase than a 240sx and the engine sits pretty far back in engine bay.

Also how much modding to the tunnel did you have to do for the 5spd? I think we're gonna have to widen the tunnel about as much as for the getrag 5spds.

Thanks

As long as they don't get into drag racing it should do OK.

It wasn't very much at all. 2 high school guys and a hammer.

Have you checked to see where the shifter will come through with that tranny?
