Just thought I'd do a small thread about my Neon & how it came to be and what my plans are for it...

Started out:
Bought it for $500 from a friend completely stock 2 months ago. Was a peice of garbage, now he looks at it everyday at work and wants it back.

Upgrades:
-Rtype Racing front & rear strut bar.
-APC clear corner lights.
-APC chrome breather filter.
-Sony 6x9 1000w 4way rear speakers.
-APC intake.
-painted valve cover (red).
-R-1 Racing aluminum oil cap.
-Apexi N1 exhaust.
-Pioneer cd player.
-Aspec night glow gauges.
-custom side graphics.
-NGK Iridium spark plugs.
-dual rally style projector headlights.
-smoke front signal lights.
-Wal-Mart hub caps :lol:

Items on the way:

-red/black seat covers.
-5 speed conversion.
-Nology plug wires.
-MSG ignition pack.

Plans:
Make it a showcar with racing potential. Have it look pretty good, but still have the horsepower to run pretty much anyone.

Yea I know. Should have rims sometime after Christmas, and the kit can wait. Saving for the 5 speed conversion at the moment.

Not really feeling the graphics, but it looks pretty good. While you're doing the 5 speed conversion, you should throw a 2.4 DOHC in there, that would make a nice little daily driver..And oh btw, lose the plugs, you'll run better on the stock coppers..And the plug wires and coilpack won't give you any gains until you start making real power.

I actually like the NGK's alot better than the ones that came on the car. Cant afford to swap it at the time, maybe oneday... What do you recomend at the moment for some cheap horsepower gains?

Changing your intake to a true CAI, like the Iceman, would help..The Mopar ECU is a nice mod too, kills off your speed limiter and raises the rev limiter..A throttle body, and header are also nice..Check out www.modernperformance.com They've got a ton of stuff on there.

don't listen to btown, keep it sohc, not many of us left. I, like others, don't like the graphics or the wheels but it's your ride. Can't wait to see pics with the ww kit installed, should be nice. In terms of speed, first priority should be that 5 speed swap. Might as well pick up an upgraded clutch too while doing the swap.

Yea, the 5 speed is my next thing. That's what I'm saving up for before I buy anything else. I went ahead & took the hub-caps off, does look alot better without them, the kit looks sweet too. Gonna go ahead & add a few other things before I paint it. Should be a pretty descent ride.
