When I bought my car mine had so much play in it it was dangerous. I just replaced it w/ a rebuilt one though but it wasn't one w/ the quick ratio.

Where'd ya get the box from? My manual steering box in the SS is totally worn out and has a lot of play. I'd like to buy a new one.

This Power Steering Gear will fit Camaro Z28, Monte Carlo SS, and Grand National all 80 and up only.

After reading the first sentence, I would say no.

It was so many yrs ago I'm not for sure, but I think my dad got it for me from Discount. I'm almost positive but I think it was from one of the chain stores and they got it in for me. Still in the car about 11 yrs later. :)

For some reason I never thought to check Discount. Sure as shit, there's a steering box for $170 right on their website.

NAPA is really not a bad place either to get one.

I've found not everything has to come from my Chevelle catalogs. I usually try them or Napa for misc. stuff like that first. I've actually had better luck w/ Napa as far as selection goes. They seem to have or be able to get more :dunno:. I haven't had any problems w/ them.

I've delt with the NAPA on Belcher for many years, so I guess I don't have it in for NAPA as a whole. They pissed me off when they closed the machine shop. It's hard to find a machine shop that was as reliable and dependable as they were. That and in all the years I've been using them at work, the counter guys have somewhat of an attitude. But I still use them now and then, once in a while they'll have the best price.
