Yeah, I just sold my 99cobra and got a 05 GTO 6spd yellow, I love the car, it's very fast and I think it look's awesome... so I'm new to the GM forum if you guys have some tips for the LS2 please give me a post, sorry I don't have a digital camera... so no pictures for now.

i would change out the cam,under drive pullies,do headers and exh,150 shot and a custom tune.

u would have one fast street car after these mods.

I love the 6.0 GTO's. Damn fast for a semi heavy car. Like Ghost said...cam, headers, exhaust and a few other minor bolt ons and your talking 400+ rwhp easy.

What are they dynoing stock?

I'm pretty sure they pack 400hp stock in them. So adding all the mentioned above would probably give you well over 460 imo

thanks, I just got the car so it's gonna take a litle time to start moding, but the car is very fast for being stock, yesterday I beat a EVO so easy that I could not belive, in my Cobra It would take some time to get some distance from the Evo, but with the GTO not even a fair race,but he problably was stock hehehe or else was not gonna be that easy.

where did you get your GTO from and was your cobra a convertible?

from century pontiac on the side of infiniti, and yes my cobra was that loud red convertible with tan top, I miss him..... but things are better now hehehehe

Did you run that red 240?

yes, I lost from a roll 2 times, and won 1 but I think he was having problems to put in third gear wen I won, that 240 is fast, with that T4 puting good boost, but he got away in 4 gear more of a top end car, but I won from a dig


I still need to loosen up my engine a litle bit, right now I have like 800miles I think I'm just gonna have full power close to 4k miles at least that's what experienced drivers tell me hehehehehe

Ya I ran him in my STI and we were pretty much heads up from a roll, your car should pick up more hp when the motor breaks in tho.

Did you test drive the 03-04 Cobra at all, I'm curious as to how it compares. I myself am looking into either an 03-04 Cobra, an 05 GTO, or a 2000-ish Vette and I am curious to the comparisons pro and con.

I never drove a S/C cobra but I think the GTO and the Cobra run very similar numbers (both stock), I used to have a 99 Cobra and the interior was crap, the seats probably came from sick cows, and the dash was very ugly, but I loved that car, It souded awesome and run very good(not compared to the GTO of course), and I did not want a 04 Cobra because they are very expencive for a used car and I hate the interior on these models.

But the GTO is just awesome, the seats are great very sporty and suportive, car is comfortable and very, very fast, plus I got the last yellow 6spd on florida, 2006 models don't have yellow anymore.... they said because I got one of the last 2005 I got a good discount and the car run me for about $28900.00 I think it's a great price for this car, considering that is far, far superior than the new Mustang GT ( yes I test drive one), I just wanted a fast car around 30K I always loved the GTO and the STi, but gotta love the v8:mullet:

Cool, yeah I'm leaning towards the GTO myself...hopefully I can sell my SRT in time to get a remaining 05 before they are all gone, get a good price like you did. Thanks for the info.
