Where do I get a S1 flashed for my car?

I bought a used S1 for my 04 srt and I need to get it reflashed. My local dodge dealership doesn't know what I am talking about so I need to find someone to do it. If anyone could help. Thanks.

Well I work at a dealer and if you called me and said you need an S1 flashed I would say "WTF is that" But I'm old school and not up with the new hip lingo for cars . I'm assuming its the PCM

Yea,your right though,i'm sure you know that the S1/,S/2 PCM's need to be "re-flashed" for the VIN number of the car,I think this is what he's asking :-)

Flight systems does it, you can find then on teh SRT forums, just do a search for them...its like 25-30 bucks and you get it back in 3-5 days, not bad IMO

I talked to the mechanic for 30 minutes, and showed him the ecu, or pcm, and he still had no idea. He tpold me that it should work if I just hooked it up. I told the guy that it had to be reflashed and he told me that there must be something wrong with the s1 ecu.The guy doesn't know what he is talking about.

Yeah the guy is probly more stoned than I am. The vin from the old vehicle is stuck in it. I'll have ask at work about how thats done. Being that its a used PCM sometimes you can't re-flash them. I dunno for sure if those apply but we had a couple instances when some parts changing tech programs one, and then finds out it didn't fix the problem, it gets returned to parts. And before anyone knows any better it gets handed out to someone else and low and behold it's already been flashed. Post or PM me your vin# and the part number on the PCM. I'll see want I can find out.

Let me add that I really don't think that is the problem, I think we would have seen that issue before.

I bought a used stage 2 pcm and had it re-flashed for my car, started right up...you should really look into flight systems...I think I talked to a girl named Nikki or something, they knew exactly what I was talking about its like all they do (re-flash SRT PCM's)

Call up Wade at Autoway Dodge. He'll do it for you and have it installed for around $50! ;)

I found flight systems on srtforums. They do it for $25. I didn't want to ship the pcm but I guess I am going to have to.

The tech's I talked with say that the PCM will work, it will have the previous vehicle vin in it, but it will work. I would just send it to flight sys. if they only charge $25.

This post will show the the preferred method for reflashing a used Stage 1 PCM for use in another vehicle (http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43352#). This method is preferable, since it gives you two benefits. It programs your PCM with both your VIN and secret key data to your PCM. This is actually one step better than a Stage 1 programmed by Mopar, since it will not set a P0633(SKIM key mismatch) code. This means your PCM has YOUR VIN, not the other vehicles (http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43352#) VIN. There's a bunch of tecnical data concerning this stuff. If algorithms and PKI type tech turn you on, let me know. We can discuss it.

Thanks to nastyblacksrt and his dealership (http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43352#) techs for trying this and verifying that it works. Since then at least two, maybe three or more used Stage 1s have been reflashed this way.

These procedure are from the PL2000 Powertrain (http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43352#) Service Manual.

NOTE: 2.4L Turbo (http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43352#) Manual Transmission (http://www.srtforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43352#).
After replacing the PCM, you must program
pinion factor.

1. Turn the ignition on (transmission in park/
neutral).
2. Use the DRBIIIt and select THEFT ALARM,
SKIM then MISCELLANEOUS.
3. Select PCM REPLACED.
4. Enter secured access mode by entering the vehicle
four-digit PIN.

5. Press ENTER to transfer the secret key (the
SKIM will send the secret key to the PCM).

This concludes method one.

Please see the other sticky (Rekey Method)for the alternate method, for use when your dealership does not want to use this method.

Please instruct your dealer to follow the DCX procedures as found in the proper DCX manual, not these, these are intended strictly to show your dealer which procedure is to be used.
