Are they ok for sliding around? They seem to have more rubber, and the compound is harder, which is what Im looking for drifting, economically.

Why spend the money on winter tires? Go to Wal-Mart and buy their cheapest tires - work great! Super-hard compound, lots of tread, and cheap as hell ($55 a piece for brand new tires on my 240sx).
tires.com falken ziex 512's in 15's for $50 a peice shipped.

^ those are too grippy for the rear.
Walmart brand...I rather stick with PepBoys brand, the Futuras.
And alot of used tire places stock up on winter tires. This is florida, no snow, so they should be cheaper.
dude, you want at least some grip in the rear and winter tires offer none
dont be a pussy, you can go faster, have more angle, and get more bitches when you have stickier rear tires.

Didn't you drift with charlie's old continental winter tires at dday 5?
I know some grip is good, but not too much. So you saying winter tires offer no grip? Like none?

LOL, I had studded tires on the rear when I was stationed in N. Dakota. Thoses studs were gone quick. Yea, they have no grip but tread lasted longer.

I have them on now and i think they suck, not for traction but for the fact that the sidewall flexes alot and you understeer if you have them up front or they hop when you have them in the back, i would look for something with more than a 1ply sidewall. They are a good everyday tire though, last long and have pretty good grip in dry/rain weather.

wow, look at longfellow getting technical talking about 1ply sidewall!
snow tires dont' like heat. they fall apart and get very greasy. i'm not a fan at all.
you could buy a kumho 711 for the rear and a kumho spt for the front and be much better off for KA style.

^ Well using winter tires for drifting isnt just a financial "solution", it's also can be experimental, just like any all-season, summer tires.
Oh, you working at TireKingdom...you lucky bitch. PM me some used tires.
