View Full Version : 24 hour SR drift car build

12:30pm Saturday. Ok so I showed up at SAC with my new car on a flat bed. The car is an 89 single cam coupe base model with doo doo brown interior. I riped the motor and everything thing out saturday and preped the car. 5:30pm, the car is completly striped and empty. 7:00pm we all start doing something diffrent cause we're all on like 3 hours sleep. Sunday monring 11:00am, breakfast at IHOP, 12:30pm, car recieves fuel pump and all nessecary parts to except SR. By 3:00 motor is in and bolted down. 4:20pm, motor is started and runs like a camp. 7:00pm, brakes and intior are finished. by 7:30 the car is out driving around, making boost and spitting fireballs
SR Blacktop Type X
Full brakes, inculding rotors, stainless lines etc
Rear end
Gauges
Turbo timer
S14 Seats
Exaust
Koyo + electric Fans
Intercooler and piping
Fuel pump
Wheels and Tires(had to be mounted and balanced)
Radio
Build Team: Trey, Moe, Matt Chin, Bill, Kyle, and myself
Time taken from start to Finish: 14 Hours and 38 minutes
(not including sleep breaks)
Hot Tea has done it agian!!, There is the bar fellas, Who can beat it?!?!?!?!?
Yall can check out the car saturday at the drift event in Charoltte county speedway
I tell you what im beat to all hell but it was one hot tea party I wouldnt want to miss.

that was by far one of the smoothest builds i have been a part of...its awsome building a car that fast with some friends. cant wait to see the new coupe drifting it up sat the 15th

moe your right one of the smoothest builds ever . good job to every one today we all kicked assss.!!!!!!!!!!the best part was we got the swap on tape.
HOT TEA will surely be boiling over next weekend at the speedway..

damn. the Hammararrarararardilyarararar is still alive and still pissed off to all hell. i like the new car terry!! can't wait till we get it painted and finsihed! defintely loved being apart of it with all my budies! no more twins, but still good times ahead!

p.s terry, don't worry about the boost controller, get t/c rods and rear arms instead and some subframe spacers!!!

great time today with all the hot tea guys!! i really learned alot with everything it was alot to take it but a great time and a great accomplishment!!!! awsome car terry and hey who did those rims theyre so hot. hahaha

sounds awesome! but this would of been better to read if I didn't have to correct the terrible grammar as I was reading it. Its okay, I'll help you type and you can help me build a car any day. Deal? you got it.

we had to remove the motor to it wasnt all preped and everything when we first started.
best of luck though man it wasnt so much that we did it so fast but it was the funnest time and most enjoyable time i think most of us had ever had doing somehting liek that.

I will have pics up in a day or so, doo doo brown interior though, i hate it, but yea no more red hatch, it got turned into a cube.
