Participating, as in driving or just attending the event as a specator?
Im going as a spectator.
Reason for not driving: Car runs on open diff. I want to run on a skid pad, and learn how to loose traction in the rear 1st.

OPEN DIFF IS NO REASON!!! you need to get out there and drive it on open diff TRUST me you can get it side3ways, i would make you look like a fool in your own car and you would have ER2004 to drive.. HAHA but too bad i'm not allowed to do that.

jonas what alignment did u end up doing
ranjo left for hawaii so i wasnt able to fiddle with the alignment too much...but right now...
front is -1.5 camber ( i forgot i had one of those eccentric camber bolts in ) so i wasnt able to swap that out and use a regular bolt... toe = 0
rear- camber -2.5 toe = 0 caster = 5.5
Ichi-go
10-09-2005, 06:40 PM
That alignment doesnt sound very fun. :( You should swap the camber (front/rear) and add more caster.
I want to do an event sooo bad.

Ocala events aren't that fun (not just the track but the amt of time we end up sitting around doing nothing) to spend $90 (plus hotel fees, gas, food, ect) when money's tight. I still don't know if I'll make it or not, all depends whether I can source a replacement tranny for cheap (and install it on time) and a couple tires. I'll know for sure by Thurs...my financial situation's been sucking ass recently due to the large amt of BS that circulates around my life.

Hell, i dont even know how to apply the basic techniques of drifting to my car yet. Back to Drift Bible video i suppose. Its about skills matt...skills.
Is it possible for me to start autox 1st to i know my car's limit, then i actually start to drift with it? I havent pushed it much since i got it.

autox first is a very good idea.
better to know limits before trying to excede them.

This kid is going to be Taka II, I know him from other forums.
FF and AWD means NUTTZING!!! Remember me drifting (or trying) in the CRX during lunch at previous DDays? And RWD Legacy what?
Of course I want people to show up to events, but it's because I want them to drive and have fun. Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today. Skidpad is coming, as is Gymkhana, but will your cars be ready by then or will it be another "something" that keeps you from participating?
Point being - if you want it bad enough, you can be there. Much love to people who bust their asses to be there, and just as much to those who try as hard as they can even if they don't make it.

Umm...lets see I almost work 60 hours a week then I eat, sleep and look at T.R. the rest of the time .Saving money up every penny i get my ever so wanted things in life that i live for and being with my g/f so i have no time or money for this silly thing you call D-day but i Do ever Soo love the drifting sport for some odd reason and everything that has to do with it...PLus Ocala is to freaking far just to go watch for a lil bit while i have off ...and Those are my reasons for not going /

^ Having a gf shouldn't drain your wallet. If it is, then i guess what really ensures that you have a pusy everynight is money. If you work 60 hrs a week at minimum wage, you would be making ~$360.00 a week.
DDay isn't silly, its a place where people can go fu*k around with their cars w/o dealing with the cops.
It's nice to know how well supported you are for this kind of sport since you "love" it so much.
Ocala isnt that far, 2 hrs, which is about the same distance as Orlando.
But it's alright that you have your priorities straighten out, we all understand that there's more to life than drifting.

I never really had a mindset on building a drift car, but want to try drifting , my car's current condition is holding me out. I'd probably end up failing a tech inspection because i haven't come up with a way to tie down the battery, and a leaky psteering rack are one of my 2 problems(removed my psteering belt so it doesn't leak out so much fluid). I need to do some more maintnence to my car before it can be driven hard. Bringing a car back from the dead (junkyard) is alot of work. I should be done with it sometime around mid november though. Right now she runs fine , but won't like taking any hard turns without giving me drama.
[mock]Im not drifting in it because Im too good for an event like dday.
Im drifting in my own event. Come see me guys!!!1!![/mocking]
