Ocala is a very nice and clean facility, so we are going to emphasize cleanliness and respect towards the track, it's workers, and the local environment. Any goofing around, horseplay in the pit area, and otherwise disrespectful behavior will NOT be tolerated and will result in expulsion from the facility with no refund.
This event is NOT going to be a competition, rather an Open invitation to anyone wanting to get more seat time in a safe legal environment for drifting. The track will consist of 8 turns that are easy enough for a stock 240sx to slide, but technical enough for the highly modified skilled driver to link (hint: combo) the entire section.
Parking is ample, but limited, so we recommend carpooling for the spectators. We want you out there, but we don't want you to have to “Austin Powers” your car in order to get a parking spot!
NOTE: There will be a 40 DRIVER MAX again This time. To make sure that everyone gets MORE seat time. We will be being very strict on time this time..that means...I say tech ends at 830, it ends at 830. If youre not there and ready to go by then...Not my problem, other people were responsible enough to get there on time and dont have the patience to wait for the rest of you.

Additionally, there will be a few changes at this event:
-Pre-Tech will be available at XAT Racing (www.xatracing.com) next Friday the 14th (day before the event) By having your car's tech inspection done before the event, you can just roll up like a baller and get your run group sticker instead of waiting in line at the gate. Pre-tech is free and can be done any time between approximately 9am and 5pm at XAT Racing in Tampa. If you have other questions regarding Pre-Tech or anything else, feel free to call me at 941-224-7235, Email me at mike.ranlet@dgtrials.com or mranlet@tmail.com or AIM me on my Sidekick (CRUNCHmonster).
-Earlier Starting Time!!:Again, get there before 8:30 to ensure that you get to participate. I'm going to be pretty Nazi about tech ending at 8:30 and starting on time, so if you are the type to roll in a little late then leave earlier to have lots of buffer. If guys want to arrange all rolling in together that would be awesome - if the majority of the drivers get there and teched by 7:30, we can do breifing and roll by 8am to get more track time.
-Run groups and track time: Drivers will still be broken up into Novice, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced (we will start the day with Advanced and work our way down this time), but instead of having a line of the 10 cars from each skill group in the starting lane, we will break each skill group in half to be 5 cars up and 5 cars on deck. It is yet to be difinitively decided, but we will most likely be sending drivers for a single lap on the track at a time with that driver returning to the pit lane and lining up again immedeately to run again. If we can work it right and people are able to hold it together around the track (read "minimal spinning"), we ought to be able to prevent any down time between laps. With this system, it should allow us to space the cars closer together on the track because we won't have to worry about the first guy coming around behind the following driver and getting a crappy lap. The hot-lapping is cool and all, but adding the one pass around the half-oval makes it much more challenging to space drivers on the track and results in less chances for people to take on all the other turns a few more times.
-Off-roading: It's one thing when a capable driver miscalculates and goes off accidently and it's another when a driver attacks a turn beyond their ability and loses it becuse they're just trying to be the hot shit. The latter is what we will be strictly cracking down on; The first time a driver goes off due to neglegence they will get a simple warning reminder, but if behavior persists we will take more severe action which may include the revocation of track time. I know this seems tough, and it is, but chucking up dirt as a result of attempting to drive beyond one's ability can really make the track messy and detracts from both the number and quality of other drivers' runs.
-Merchandise: this time around, there will be shirts, stickers, and some other goodies for sale at the event, so if you want to sport some DG love on your drift machine or even your Mom's Accord, bring a couple bucks.
A list of registered drivers will be posted here and updated as often as possible. There are still plenty of spots left, but the events always have a tendency of filling up in the 2 weeks leading up to the event, which is NOW, so get your reg in while we still have spots!!
Will see you at OGP!
