Alright well Ive drove Hondas for YEARS...Ive owned atleast 20 or so.My friend Tim has been wanting me to get a turboed dodge for awhile. So I found one at a good price and picked it up:)..First off I love the car already its sooo comfy to drive. And is sleeper as hell....But my question is what should I do first and what do these cars respond to best.Heres a list of things I have for the car already..Decent size fmic..Wet n20 kit..And little odds and ends things.I plan on running open dp.And I want to turn up the boost..But not sure how much I should turn it up.Or how much this motor will handle stock?(2.2)...And whats some other good mods to start out with??..Ohh the car is a 1988 dodge shadow-turboed 4-door..It has 100thousand mile on it..Any help from you guys would be great and thanks in advance..Jamie

well, as far as bottom end strength goes...the rods on T2(turbo 2) cars are proven to hold 500+, the pistons...not sure but I wouldnt risk more than about 300 on them max(I am assuming this is a turbo dodge and not a non turbo dodge that has been turbocharged here) the turbo on those cars though is a small TO4E and probably wont boost efficiently past 15psi, step up to a T3 or some t3/t4 hybrid for extra power...and forget the nitrous, also, just to let you know, the dodge dealership still sells staged turbo kits for those cars...dont know the cost on them though...check turbododge.com for more info, I only know the basics(mainly because I used T2 rods in my 2.4L, beefy ass rods, those)

You should be able to go to your local dodge dealership and for like 5 bucks pick up a mopar catalog that will have all the part numbers for anything mopar makes for that motor I bought one with my srt4 and I love it, it's soooo easy to find stuff only thing I don't like is they don't have prices in it so it leaves you guessing on that but then you just call parts dept. and give them part # and there is only room for a typo for error so you'll know exactly what you're getting it's worth the 5 bucks if you're going to be putting money into it.

You've finally embrassed the darkside. Now lets see your skill.
Does it already have a FMIC ? You know I'll willing to weld the piping for you if you cut it and fit it.
Turbo Rob is your best bet for getting the turbo upto par.
Jordon's GLH-T Omni Omni was sold today, one turbo dodge out, one turbo dodge in.
Deffinately needs a 3'' side exit.
you gonna bring it out Sat. ?

Deffinately keep the small shot handy, your going to need it with a larger turbo on that POS cylinder head. Jordons Omni had the worst turbo lag EVER. It was a 60-1 compressor on the stock housings. He'd loss all boost between gears ( which is when I'd pull away from him when my car was stock ), we always thought it needed a 50shot on a hobbs presure switch just to kill lag.
His Omni ran 19psi with 30% larger injectors and SUPER ghetto tuned.
You going out tonight ? nevermind, I'll just call...

well go for nitrous to spool the turbo maybe, also, you can convert to DOHC head on that thing...theres a writeup on turbododge...while it does require serious cylinder head and block modification I think that it would certainly be worth the effort...you should read up on it

bahhhhhh. yeah the heads suck arse, but they're pretty quick nevertheless. if you're killing the exhaust, good for you. if you're upgrading the turbo, good for you. at any rate, plenty of folks have gone low 13s on the stock turbo. they'll wind up to 25+ psi, no problem, although i guess somebody is going to be concerned about heat and efficiency. whatever. these things really respond well to alcohol injection. larry had a kit on his spirit (i'm pretty sure it was a spirit) with a big arse turbo and at something like 22 psi, his intake charge was BELOW ambient.
parts for these cars are super cheap. dodge made over a million turbocharged 2.2s and 2.5s, and since most of them end up in the junkyard, you don't usually have to search too far.
if you need some quick answers, you can email me at turbomacncheese@yahoo.com. i'll help if i can.

hey, a non SRT dodge freak, was wondering where all the other dodge freaks were...he he, I have been thinking about buying a shadow coupe myself and building a 2.5L Hybrid DOHC just to make a car even more sleeper than my neon, or even a 4 valve SOHC conversion if I could get it to work, the most important part not being the DOHC, but the 4 valves per cylinder

, the most important part not being the DOHC, but the 4 valves per cylinder
And the cross-flow head. Could you imagine how BAD ASS the GLH-T would have been with a cross-flow head and intercooler !!!
Stupid old dodges make me chuckle everytime I see one thats even kinda fast, hehe..
Side note. Jamie's PC is down ( aka teamcallowway ), so he can't read any of this....
I personally want a black/silver 1G ACR with a SRT4 motor.

heh, wish I could find an ACR at a decent price...I'll have to convert one of my coupes to ACR spec....which is what I was thinking of doing with the 98....a lot of work, but it should be fun...just as soon as I finish the motor...not much more to go in that area, as for the old turbo dodge I want a 89 shelby CSX(the shelby version of the sundance/shadow) to do the hyrbid conversion to, I have decided though that I would rather have the 2.2 over the 2.5, or maybe just swap in a nasty built 2.4
