well utec is more of the boost control it helps with muilt mapsand boost and ecutek helps if fueling and timing with an avcr u can only run 2maps i guess what scott says but thats what im going to do with my car kinpin is going to flash it and find a cheap utec and run them both( my .02 cents) b/c i wanna run low mid high and 100 oct boost settings with out messing with anything

yeah like the map swith. what does a utec run with the switch? are the mps preloaded or does it have to be custom tuned?

well custom tune is the best b/c u can set things the way u want them like running 100oct u can do it instead of relaying on someones preloaded map

am talking with jarrad now about it. heres his response
Running both allows you to run multiple maps, have launch control and
flat footed shifting, and raise the rev limit, control AVCS, and turn
off CELs. The only disadvantage is that you have to pay more money. We
run both on all our cars :)
Jarrad
im waiting to hear back on my special pricing with map selector switch. i would have them preflash it before they send it to me if possible

okay, but.......
but you dont need utec to run meth.
so what needs additional control??
im afraid i cant help any if i dont get the point here...

so how many people are against the UTEK. it only can help your tune if you have it tuned by a pro.
i know one of the major tuners that was her was against the UTEK and all for the reflash. so now this seems like it is spreading. it is a more affective tuning tool. you have more control, more options, and yes it is more expensive. but well worth it in my opinion.

i didnt say i was running meth. HULK is going in for some undisclosed additions and wont hurt to have something else on top of the ecutek to keep everything right

i guess if you are not interested in revealing your additions then this is a pointless discussion on my part.

the new additions are classified. nothing against anyone but not everyone needs to know what makes the HULK as strong as he is ;)

well you see, we have been doing this study, and we have found that it helps in many ways.
we really are not prepair`d to release any of our formal findings but in a unofficial pressconfrence we gave the public a slight view of our whole study and finding.
ie. if you are able to drive your car in the nude with all of the windows rolled down, while the rear defroster is on. you will be able to corner at a 37mm better angle.
also if you wear your seatbelt only half cocked while in the same cenario and drive with your high beams on during the day, you will be able to cut through the more dense FL air at a percentage of 2.45 per liter air pressure. thus giving you a feeling of a 5.79WHP gain at each wheel.
but all of these findings are still under devlopment and are still unofficial

The Ecutek & Utec combo works really well. In the past I have used them on my big turbo high hp setup with great success. The main benifit of using both is having switchable maps but also lets not forget that the UTEC is Map based and not maf. It is for this reason I use them on the big turbo cars. The factory ECU can only read up to 22.5psi, which leaves you with no additional control over fueling and timing above those levels. This is where the utec comes into effect, by allowing us to run additional fuel and timing above 22 psi. Also in conjunction with the Utec we run the ecutek reflash to do all your scalling for the fuel injectors and maf sensor. This allows us to get the drivability like stock, with out any stutter between the ecu control and where the utec picks up. Also if you ever add on additional mods you can tweak with the settings yourself. Or if you want a racegas map, pumpgas, meth injection, you can switch them on the fly.
There is more to it but that is just a short list
