yea im suprised they didnt take the BMW to atleast atlanta...

agentAndy

he is sick, and fearless too. No offence to Rob but he was getting walked by Harri. Harri's speed was unmatched. Dont get me wrong, Rob was fast too but not as fast as Harri. He should go.

marksaccord95
09-26-2005, 10:03 PM
its being able to carry the speed at the huge angles which is hard, and he can do

marksaccord95
09-26-2005, 10:06 PM
the best person on angles around here though is still jay (general Lee)

a lot of my pics are blurry bc he generates too much smoke and my camera wants to focus on the smoke and not his car

your right 4th place is really bad.. not to mention qualifying 2nd overall. he is only good at ovals.

well, mike speed has one of the slowest cars, and harry could not keep up with the camino. that's all i'm saying. while he may be fast, he needs to lighten the bmw so that it is just as nimble as the competition. or get more traction.

new drift team

glen izarry and nitro nick ? haha

Money talks. They'll probably end up wrecking their cars like that Team X dude. Tyson Beckford I think.

I don't recall if they stated the qualifying order but it went like this:

1-Mike Peters
2-Harri Tervola
3-Vaughn Gittin (that S14 was 10x better than his S13) and let us not forget the extra 3 qualifying runs he was granted just to make it into the event..

Harri was the ONLY driver who did not spin a single time from when we got there on Friday afternoon until we packed up sunday night.

That includes when he went off in the mud on the POS tires we had to swap last minute because the tires we qualified on took a crap.

Let's also remember that we had a fuel issue the whole weekend and were making about 350hp. I have driven this car a number of times and clutch kick is not a technique needed normally, yet listen on the ESPN video, he is having to clutch kick like a madman, first time he has ever had to do that. 2 weeks ago it leaned out on the dyno at 375rwhp. We now have about 700cc of injector per cylinder available, nad 800hp worth of turbo so 600hp+ on the dyno should be doable.

DDay4 anyone?? again not a single spin all day.

Harri's brother Hannu is even crazier, actually I think all the Ter-Tech drivers are at least a lil nuts (this includes me)

As far as the BMW going on a diet, that is priority ONE right now. 2 weeks ago on the scales it was 3200lbs dry, and 3400 with driver. We're gutting EVERYTHING not essential to holding the body together or making power. We've also got an E36 4door in the works, but yes, BubbaDrift has no weight on the rear, and 255's and still he totally walked away from us on the entry.

We want more grip, I'm thinking RE070's or A046R's might be what we need.

Maybe you should read what he said again, and not be so eager to get into e-fights. ;)

i dont even know what this post is about, or what gayness is going on.

i just wanted to say i was very impressed by harri's driving sunday where in the past seeing him drive ogp events i thought it was so-so.
maybe he is alot better at ovals, or maybe ogp just isnt his type of track reference, or maybe its just alot of improvement.
either way, going on sunday alone, i cant see one reason he isnt driving at a pro level.

I'd recommend a download manager so you can get it all in one shot, its over 110mb so definitely have a broadband connection if you're gonna try.

Maybe I can have someone break it up and mirror the hosting too, it's not my video originally though. Mike peters posted it on Drifting.com

Woot we're back on topic, sorry guys.

So yea, the latest I had heard was that for 2006 FD was gonna require a full season commitment, no more single event registration...

But now only the points scorers from 2005 are gonna be invited??

I wish they would just say what's up officially so the people looking to arrange a plan for '06 can do so.

Supposedly 2006 schedule will be announced at SEMA right?? I would hope they also plan to release the rulebook by then and the arrival of a feeder series or not...

That's a real interesting way to broaden the appeal of drifting and get more people involved, make it exclusive.

Not hating on Enjuku's hard work, but if those guys with 2 cars, a semi, and the commitment couldn't stay at the top, I don't know how anyone else can.

Seems like the sanctioning bodies are shooting themselves in the foot.

So much for grassroots

So much for grassroots

Formula D is FAR from grassroots.

That's why it's a 'professional' series.

You want grassroots, go to DG or Ter-Tech events.

Or some of the ones up north/east coast.

Matt Vassallo

here is the problem i see with the 5 series being a competitive formula d car.

it's way too heavy and way too predictable in its transitions because of its weight. a very light car like an s13 or corolla would be able to mime its' movements perfectly, while when following, the bmw woul dhave a difficult time following the line and quickness of transition that the lighter car can run.

other than that, it's big, its loud, it has four doors, and 6 cyls. that's bad ass!

hachibill
09-28-2005, 11:58 AM
less weight and more grip would help that problem.
