alright i have an 02 miata...so i have limited trunk space
is there anywhere in tampa that you guys would suggest going to for a complete custom layout? i mean i want my shit to hit hard but i dont want it to look like i did it myself. i have 2 12" blaupunkts and i was thinking maybe one twelve on each side of the trunk and the amp encased and positioned in the middle idk. any feedback would be awesome

First, I'd consider some different subs. Unfortunatley, you're not going to hit "really hard" in a Miata, not only because it's a convertible....but space is so limited. Putting subs in your trunk probably isn't going to do a whole lot other than rattle it. In most higher end convertibles we work on, we do a JL 8" woofer (custom fiberglass enclosure and completely stealth) on the floor under the dash of the passenger side, still allowing enough leg room for a passenger. It's the best way to get clean bass , but is not going to be "glass shattering." If you're willing to lose more leg room, we could squeeze a 10" woofer in there. Either option would run right in your budget range. Otherwise, we could definetly do an enclsoure in your trunk for the 2 12's...but I wouldn't exactly recommend it. Come by SoundAdvice on Columbus and Dale Mabry and one of the salesman would be happy to go over a couple options with you.

I would deff do eu700's by elemental designs..... Nice speaker for the money and great sound with limited space...

If you need more bump I would go with maybe a 13ov if space is there...

in teh 600$ range you are best set on doing it yourself. you will not get any kind of decent setup for 6 bills. And with a little effort and a few days you can make a custom setup that doesnt look like you did it yourself.

No, actually, in order to still keep some leg room the woofer is aiming at the passenger (if it were facing down you'd be losing over 8" leg room), this configuration you only lose about 5" of leg room. The entire face of the sub is covered however, therefore all you see when looking at the location is a panel carpeted to match your factory carpeting. We do this box in alot of Porsche coupes & convertibles and BMW convertibles. It provides clean bass and good imaging and another advantage is the 8" woofer requires much less power which means not only a cheaper, but also smaller amplifier which can also be more easily concealed.

If you live in the Pinellas/Pasco area you could try A&B audio on US19 just north of klosterman rd (where st pete college is) They have done lots of work for me some custom in an 98 explorer other stereo installs and basic boxes in a 94 talon . It came out great. They arent the cheapest I've seen but they do offer lots of options for you and they are incredibly freindly. If you want just cheap basic hidden amp and speaker installs try Stereorama on ridge road they arent very freindly but the work is super cheap.

ok so i went to sound advice and they fucking hooked me up man, someone named alex helped me with sales and joe worked on the car, shit turned out alot better than i thought it would, it did take a really long time to finish(custom fiberglass enclosure) but in the end it was well worth it.

Actually, I think that was me (John) who did your car...didn't even realize you were from TR. It was a 8w0 and Alpine 350 I believe though. Glad you liked it and we could meet your budget. Now all you need is a new deck and a nice component set... ;)

yeah my bad that was going to be the original set up i think...i dont remember sorry for the false info, but nontheless it sounds awesome and yeah even if it is a 8w0 not a 8w3 w/e its all good to me, and i didnt realize what amp i actually had until after i posted this but man idk about you but that smell, was it from the fiberglass? everyone keeps telling me my car smells brand new lol. but yeah man thanks for everything
