I have a 1991 hatchback civic and I can't get it to drift like I've seen on all the clips in the video post. Does anyone have any advise? I really want to be a good drifter. It's my one true passion. Thanks guys.

provided you are being serious-
first you'll need a rear drive car, not a front drive. and then there is a post at the top *sticky* that is for beginners

go to Burger King and carefully steal two trays. Back your rear tires onto the stolen trays and slide till the tray burns out.

the closest thing to drifting you can do in a fwd car is take a corner really fast and break your front tires loose and yank the handbrake. Dont be stupid and do it in traffic either.

Screw that.

The EF Civic is a great FF drift platform. Mechanically you need adjustable suspension (semi stiff front and loose rear) and small rear tires with short sidewalls (205-50-15 front and 185-50-15 rear is a good start). Driving-wise you need a lot of practice. A 2-way LSD will also help, as throttle-off can be one of the strongest weapons in your arsenal besides left-foot brake.

I did it in my CRX, you can do it in the civic. FF drift is possible with high entry speed and good control, although it isn't like FR drift no matter what you do.
