I can get a pair of the new Hankook Rs2 245/45/17 for 280 out the door. That is the most ive ever spent on a pair of tires.

Why would you buy just two tires?

i hope you meant a set (4) of them, that's a great price (if it's for 4) & they're supposed to be very grippy, do it

i'd save till you can afford 4 of the same so you have the same amount of grip at each wheel but that's just me :dunno:

I'd look for ways to run 16 or 15 inch tires so that I could pay less for a set of them.

That wont be possible soon when I upgrade to 13" Cobra Brakes. I guess more question was more directed at "does this seem like a good deal". If i wanted to wait around to buy a set of 4, It would be for another month and a half.

I've got a set of the Hankook Z212 RS2's, they're a very nice tire. Almost as grippy as the Azenis, but much better street manners and less expense. They're even awesome in the rain.
But, listen to what these guys are telling you. 4 matched tires is the best way to go. And 15 or 16" wheels and tires will always save you some weight. Even on a muscle car, weight matters.
