Test drive!!! Srt-4

Well I went and test drove a new SRT-4 since I was wondering how this car was for the price....

Cruises Really nice seats are A+++ , BUT let me stop this short I didnt think it was as fast as planned? Maybe I didnt drive it correctly....WHen I hit the gas I it did go ANYWHERE until like 5600?? Now let me remind you never have driven a fwd turbo car....

Does anyone have an srt-4 they would be willing to let me ride in?

If the turbo spools at really low rpms like it's supposed to you would have had a blast. Sounds like you had a bad one that you test drove as redline is 6,000 so not going anywhere til 5600 would suck ass. If I was ever in St. Pete I'd let you drive mine but I am over in Tampa. :dunno: It's a really fun car for being a FWD. I am usually at full boost before 3,000 rpm on mine. It's a good car to get, if you are looking to buy one, I highly recommend it.

I am always by usf area..... I think it was a dogg or something it was white with ghost flames they had painted on it looked ugly as can be lol and wanted 26k for it lol

Well I really would like one but I just have to see more power then the one I drove it had lsd soooo Not sure what the probblem was....

What do you get for mpg?

I usually get around 180 - 200 miles to a tank. It's a 12 gallon tank so I get around 16mpg. My wife drives it though the week so it gets better mileage with her than when I am driving.

holy crap 16mpg? thats awful, with my 2.4 turbo I got 32mpg...but then I usually kept my foot off the gas more...it also had a ton of crap done to it, I'm expecting roughly the same fuel mileage from the SRT engine I am finishing up now, but I do have a standalone as well, so I have better fuel control I guess?

Like I said, I hardly drive it, so when I do... :burnout: Plus it's usually city driving, it gets to see the highway maybe once a month. Only used half a tank from here to Orlando and back last weekend going about 90 - 100 most of the trip.

As fas ar mpg I'm like 420A when my wife drives ours (most of the time) it gets awesome gas mileage. When I'm running late for school and go from lakeland to dale mabry last week I got 11 mpg but for the most part ours gets 30+ on highway and about 22-25 city... When we went to Orlando last thursday I did an average of 80 the whole way and we used less than 1/4 tank of gas too and from so highway the thing is awesome. I think we paid something like 18 and some change on ours out the door. So 26 is nuts tell that dealership to cram it up their ass. Also as far as the getting on it and not going anywhere ours has done that to me a couple times when I get a hiccup in the air flow or shift weirdly but other than that it hauls ass most of the time. Don't buy a used one unless you want one that was beat on. Must people trust the way they beat on their own car but I wouldn't trust one that was beat on by someone else.

Well I went and drove a used black one..... Really nice car.. I am a pretty big guy so the seat was a little tight..I dont like sitting up so high though.Another thing is it had some kind of g-ready turbo timer or somthing...PEgged 17 psi couple times :) Steering radias SUCKS! lol I could not do a uturn worth a shit//// Radio was very well for stock! I took a nice drive by myself and just felt like it wasnt for me/// 1st 2nd gear nice everything else just felt like a regular neon didnt do anything on the highway from a roll and i felt a little squished nice car though ,But I was rasied with rwd and cubes lol I think the mach1 is my better choice of an suv and just cruise out/

I just think your cufusing fast with "feels fast". My civic feels like an 11sec car, yet can't come close to my almost stock SRT4.

I out power v8s all the time, but they DEFFINATELY feel faster.

Just try not to confuse the two. I drove a 493hp benz, and it didn't feel as fast as stock fox body mustang, but runs mid 12's....

I've ALWAYS thought my SRT4 "feels" pretty slow...

Bought mine for $18K with 4600 miles on it. There's no way they could have done anything worse to it vs me... But I'm also a mantenace nazi, and only put the best fluids in my car.

I get about 18MPG with 62LBS. injectors.

I would like to feel some modded ones and maybe change my mind, as for the mach 1 stock for stock it would probbly hand you your ass lol.

personally Id go for the SRT-4, better build quality, nicer looks and practical. 4 doors man, you can take your friends and rape cars.

Seriously there is a whole lot you can do to those cars. Plus they are cheaper to own, maintain, insure and modify. Easy choice for me, I just wanted something luxurious and reliable but I look back and wish I drove the SRT. And trust me, every car feels slow in the drivers seat, take a spin in the passengers seat. I drove a 70 442 and when I nailed it I felt shit, but the passenger always got "seated".

i cant beleive that car is still there, i went there in early may to buy a white one and it was that one or one with no options. the one with the flamse also has underbody lights. hahaha

i didnt drive the white one with gay flames just cause i straight told the sales guy it was gay and they would have to pay me to have them removed.

but as for this story, something doesnt add up. you first said the seats were nice but then you drove the used one and the seats sucked and it sat up high and blah blah, its the same car and they all have the same seats. i drove a black and besides the rat that was chilling under the hood its an awsome car
