I'm in need of some new 4" speakers for under the dash and a subwoofer. But i dont want some shit that's going to take up my whole hatch and rattle my car apart!

What's the smallest way to add some kick to a system.

Who makes 4" speakers that don't suck?!

Help me out here please.

The 4" speaker doesnt really matter what brand you get - theres not much midbass from 4" inchers anyways. I would worry more about the crossover you put on them. Even a 10$ ebay special brand of 4" speakers with a good crossover will sound good.

For a compatc sub - one alpine S-type in bandpass box - really small and packs a punch. you should be able to get one for less than $199

Any 4" speakers will suck, just stick with a name brand. As far as small subs, not sure just how much bass you're looking for, but with minimal space in mind, I'd go with dual 6w0, 8w0, or 8w3's by JL. They're by far some of the best sounding "small" subs I've heard. Combined with an amp that does about 200w rms would be a clean system.

+1 tbspyder

one compvr 10 in a bandpass/ported and 200 watts will do nicely aswell and will leave space
