Can You Hear The Music Thru Your System?

New Tv Units Are Required To See Either The Parking Brake Applied Or Reverse Signal.
It Is Illegal To Be Able To View The Tv As The Driver. But If You Have It In Park And The Emergence Brake Applied It Them Lets You View The Picture
Some Will Take A Signal From The Reverse So If You Had A Backup Camera It Would View Thru Tv,

does your car have to have the e-brake on to view, or do you have to apply the foot brake and e-brake? if it is just the ebrake then take the wire that goes to ebrake and put it to ground ( if your car is a ground when on e-brake which most are) if you have to do a sequence of things then search ebay for brake bypass (insert model number) and you should be able to find a bypass module. if the pac tr-7 is an option then get it, I have one on my alpine and it works perfect.

I cant even view the screen with the e-brake up,brake engaged or anything.Would the e-brake wire be in the "main harness" or a separate wire.I'm thinking my buddy may of forgot about this wire ...Thanks for the help so far guys!..would circuit city or anywhere local stock this..."IF" i need it?

hey i have an alpine motorized flip out... all you have to do is buy a bypass box and connect it and it makes the player think the brake is on.. ther mad cheap... this isint for your model.. just giving you an idea of how cheap they are... http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-VIDEO-BYPASS-FOR-ALPINE-CVA-FLIP-OUT-CAR-TV-MONITOR_W0QQitemZ5805451537QQcategoryZ48605QQrdZ1Q QcmdZViewItem ... that way you dont have to do any ghetto wiring...

:D either integralsgreen was right about simple grounding the green wire off the back of the screen, OR if its a new screen you will need a bypass box. ebay has some cheap ones to get the job done.

so uhh, when do i get some TR skank lovin?

grab your owners manual and see what it has listed in the install section. if it is just the e-brake then it will show 1 wire, it may be in the main harness for the unit or it may be in a small sub harness. the wire for your car will be near the e-brake. If you can post up the right model number ( since you said you weren't sure if it was right) I may be able to tell you which way it is. if you do need a bypass I highly recommend the pac tr-7, the ebay listing may not mention all available models. I have an alpine iva-d310 and the guy on ebay said it wouldn't work ( but he had a more expensive one that would) I went to the pac website and contacted them, they said it would, and it did. I did the entire hookup myself and it works flawlessly.

Whoever hooked it up didn't do it right. For $50 I'll make it so you can watch it while driving.

The cd player itself is hooked up right, everything works 100%..besides,the :aux: screen, and it displays "this screen is blocked for your safety"...I think it needs the actual grounding wire. Not sure...Do you still work at Sound Advice?

looks like the light green wire just needs to tap onto the e-brake, which means ground. just connect to ground and you should be fine.

I found a "cord assembly" on that site,is that what i will need to order?

on the main wiring harness that has the power, ground, speaker wires, power antenna wire. etc. there should be a light green wire. the light green wire should be connected to the e-brake or ground if you want to bypass it. when you go to the link I posted click on "Installation/Connection Instructions" under where it says manuals. it'll open a pdf that you can save or print for a hard copy.

The instructions don't say what the cord assembly is, so I am only guessing that it may be the main harness, your audio/video inputs are rca connections, like $4 at walmart. the screen locked is from it not getting the right signal from the e-brake wire( light green).

You shouldnt have to buy anything else... just take thelight green wire and ground it. it shoudl be on the harness already

If its newere is a light green wire, its gonna need a toggle. I just ground the wire and add a momentary push button to toggle it. You cant just ground newer units.

just installed the alpine 310 - i think
bye passed the warning screen with a relay and monatary switch - works real slick
these new units dont just need a ground or signal from parking brake but need to have them applied in a sequence in order to work
check you manual to see if it need to be applied a certain way - the alpine needed to see the parking brake -on then off - brake pedal - then paking on again.

his manual just wants the wire hooked to the e-brake, no sequencing needed.
