A very casual affair....nothing like PCA events I've been to where you are required to wear long sleeves and pants, etc. There was also a wide variety of cars running, everything from a Mercury Sable to a pair of Radicals. Enjoy!

It was awesome because the fence was down that is usually there for the 12 hours of sebring, this is on the back runway straightaway I wasn't even in the middle either!

This Cooper S was going fast all day and had that awesome supercharger whine as he came off the last turn onto the front straightaway.

One of the 360's, unlike the other, this guy was pushing his car hard.

Plenty of passing, I didn't notice if there were any designated passing zones, because passing went on everywhere.

Did you drive, or just go watch? A group of Miata guys went to the last one they did back in July, Sebring is a BLAST to drive!

Just watched unfortunately. Don't think my car would be too fun out there  But my aunt and uncle showed up and are looking into getting one of the radicals or some other sort of track car, so that would be interesting!

The thing sounded awesome! May I ask what that big loud snap was when you had the front bumper off and were wrenching under the hood in the pits? My dad, brother and I were walking down pit road and heard a big bang like you're wrench slipped and you hit something

I'm the one in the Suby wagon. The whole day was such a blast! There's no better 'run what you brung' deal around. We literally drove all day except for the 2 class sessions that novices have to take. I learned more in one day then I learned in 5 years of autocross. I probably drove more in one day then all of my autocrosses combined too!

The snap you heard was my crow bar breaking in half when i was trying to change the supercharger pulley belt. I did not hit anything thankfully. But as you probally saw I was back out there shortly!!! THe rain sucked though.

Ah yeah we were walking by and my dad was like "wow that ddn't sound good!" I have one more ? did your black fender covers on the back wheels come off because of rubbing or did you take them off? Yeah everyone bolted for the pits when it rained!

The molding was rubbing so i took it off. My sticky tires are much bigger than my street tires and i had to adjust my coilovers to make it work. Did you get any more Pics of my car?
Damn, looks like a great time.
Keep meaning to get out there sometime but just can't find the time. They (Chin) usually do two day events right? Saturday and Sunday?
RoadRacer

yea, they mix it up... 9/18 is a single day event but Nov 19th and 20th is a double day event.

Thanks for digging up the extra pic of my car! I have been checking twice a day on the Chin site for the "official" pics, but nothing yet.

Where can one get their car "Tech"d locally?

Where can one get their car "Tech"d locally?
When we went as a club, several of us got together, put each car up on jack stands and inspected them ourselves a week or so before the event. We did a lot of maintenance (oil changes, brakes, etc) while we were at it.
I'd think that any mechanic that you trust could do it for you, as well. Especially any of the shops that prepare cars for racing. (not street racing, but actual road racing) Cars & Concepts comes to mind, I'm sure there are many others.
In the end, YOU are responsible for you car being track-worthy. No matter who you have do the inspection, YOU are signing the bottom of the form that says YOU are satisfied that your car is safe. (at least with Chin... I think some of the others are different, like NASA requires you to have your car inspected by an "authorized inspector")

Thanks Loren.
Turns out, examining the NASA info a bit more, and the Tech Form in detail, that one only needs to be checked out by a "qualified mechanic" and there is no official place on the form for anyone to sign other than the driver. I'm well-past qualified to perform my tech inspection, so it looks like things are all set.

Here are a few pics of my car from the 28th. I actually won a cd with all the pics of my car from Colour Tech Photography for being the first one to sign up for the event, about 30 pics total.

This could be another obvious kind of question, but what is the tire wear like? Will I need to have another set of MXs waiting for me for "the autox next week"?

Yeah we saw you out there! My brother especially liked your car because he too has a civic hatch. You might've seen us snooping around the car and engine bay when it was parked behind the pits.
