Worth Modding?

I've got a 96 grand am. The exterior is in pretty good condition, and the interior is as well (pics in a few days on my garage). It's a 4 banger which kinda turns me off on modding it. I'm a pretty lazy driver as it is so I'm avoiding a stick, even though I can drive one, heh. Anyway, I was curious if the grand am is even worth modding (mostly exterior, not looking to race it, just smoke the civic kids, which i already do) or should I just not waste the cash?

Lol yea, for looks andy's autosport stocks some decent body kits. They also stock a turbo kit and intakes :) lol Even though I know that post was dripping with sarcasm

i doubt that thing would beat a b16a. Leave it stock and enjoy the cheaper gas. us fast guys will be paying 3.50 soon.

ya i really would save the money and enjoy a car that doesnt break down everyday because it got more aftermarket parts than stock parts

You know ive heard from a few ppl, there is a lot of potential in that motor if the aftermarket would acutally do something for it.

i had a quad 4 in my grand am a while ago. impressive power for an american 4 banger. i beat that car senseless...its really not bad at all.

Thanks :) heh, I think at most then I'll fix up the interior and possibly add some nicer rims and whatnot..unless I can trade it out for my mom's car. Heh, she doesn't drive that 240sx like it should be driven. I was hoping that having the engine blow on me about a month ago would lead me into getting the v6 in there, but I'm not up for replacing anything else to make the v6 compatible.

Thanks :) heh, I think at most then I'll rice up the interior and possibly add some ricer rims and whatnot..unless I can trade it out for my mom's Honda. Heh, she doesn't drive that Accord like it should be driven. I was hoping that having the engine blow on me about a month ago would lead me into getting the b16b in there, but I'm not up for replacing anything else to make the b16b compatible.

And just an FYI, i fuckin hate hondas. They aren't even worth modding becuase sure..they can have potential after you drop so much cash into them..but instead you can just buy a better car with the cash and spend less to make it better than the modded honda.

yea, well believe it or not, the grand am can haul some ass with it's old ass parts :) and there's a decent amount of aftermarket that I've found for it (intakes, a turbo, etc) so it's not like there's NO options for it. But like I said, just making due with what I got for now. Heh not like springhill has anywhere I can even open it up past 60 anyway, this town blows.

My mechanic is looking around now for a used quad 4 engine with low milage for me as mine blew about a month ago. Still not sure why, I didn't drive the car that hard. Also getting a new water pump put in and getting some minor stuff fixed (driver side window was off it's track so it wouldn't roll up right) so it will be like having a brand new car when I get it back. Just started a new job so hopefully I'll be able to work towards getting a new car. There's a blue Subaru WRX with gold rims with my name on it :) heh

Damn, talk about not taking a joke lightly! What I was trying to say, in a more humorous way, is fuck modding your Grand Am. That V6 isn't going to produce dick worth of power, and it's an ugly and heavy car. Just drive it, enjoy having a working vehicle, and save your money to buy something worth tossing some cash into.

Modding a Grand Am would be like fucking your sister. Sure, it's going to feel good, but deep down you know it's the wrong thing to do. And just like fucking your sister, you're going to be made fun of as soon as people find out about it.
