SRT-4 owner in Port Richey

Not new to the area, just new to the forum. Some of you may recognize my car if you are in the Pasco area. http://www.cardomain.com/profile/neon4on4steroids
It's a blue SRT-4 with black stripes on the side, lowered, with a relatively noticeable turbo spool.

I was invited to TR by a guy that drives a 485whp black Cobra with red racing Cobra letters in the rear bumper; lives in Port Richey area. We exchanged props on the fast rides, but he did take me for a good three+ car-lengths from 55-100mph. We've ran before; he raped me for about seven car-lengths at an earlier date. Tonight was a better race. I believe he has heads, long-tube headers, X-pipe, and a shorter pulley.

Not sure what he goes by on here though. Anyone know?

I liked it too until there started to be 8-10 SRT-4's around here, three being blue like mine. I did all the engine and suspension first, did the looks last. -Gotta keep those priorities straight! With any luck hopefully people will think I just spent money modifiying the looks and nothing else. I had all the engine work done and looked completely stock for nine months; got tired of it after awhile. That huge wing had to go!

I've got three friends with SRT's a Blue one a Black one and a Silver one they have all taken different directions when building thier cars.

They're pretty versatile. To me the direction was obvious. The SRT-4 was built for performance... I just took it a little further. You could put a system, body kit, etc. on the base model Neon. But some people like the SRT performance as it is and focus elsewhere. To each his own I suppose.

Im Leu's friend Lue has a Silver 04 SRT. I have the Saturn Ion Redline. I used to have the honor of whooping him everyonce in a while untill he got the AGP w/g and MBC.
I saw you like a month ago at a show maybe a lil bit longer ago at wal-mart.

Yep, that's me. I remember seeing you at Wal-Mart. Lou showed me a video of you two racing on Streetfire.net. He pulled you pretty good. Stock vs. Stock he would have beat you. He's now got Stage 1 and is running even better.

That racing ticket was BS. We weren't even racing (he was just trying to keep up). We weren't even next to each other or taking off at the same time. He was in my friggin' lane behind me for God's sake!

If he's all motor, he's fully built. He told me he was turbo, etc. Closest race I've ever had with a Civic. Found his thread in War Stories, the last part was BS but from a roll he did pull and hold about 1/2 car-length. From a "stop" (actually 5mph roll) he says "go" and hits the gas as soon as he said it. He jumped a 1/2 car-length, I missed 2nd, put it in 2nd and by that time he was 2 cars ahead. I shut it down, as did he. I asked what he had done, he said turbo. If it's N/A, he put a shit-load of money into it to get it that way.
Only Civic that ever put up a fight, good race.

Hey Dan! Yeah that was a pretty good run we had. 3rd beep and we both hit it pretty nicely. Stock & lightly modded Cobras I've taken before. When we first ran a few weeks ago, by the sound of your exhaust I had a feeling I was going to be in for a bad day but tried anyway. I'm glad I was able to give you a better run yesterday. It was a 19lb. SPIKE. A WGA that spikes 19lbs and falls to 15lbs isn't a true boost gain. Anyone that knows about turbos knows this. Plugs and a drop-in filter don't do much. One thing I will say when I first met Lou is that he didn't know how to drive as well as he does now. When I first went for a ride with him when he got on it, he always shifted at 4700-5200rpm; was a little nervous to redline it and shifted very slowly. If there was any reason why you won, it was because of that.

Stock SRT-4's run 13.9-14.1's
Stock Redlines & the Cobalt SS runs around a 14.5

The video on Streetfire he let you get off the line three car lengths and then was pulling hard catching up to you. He left off and paced you for a sec and waives (blocked by your head) and then gets in the gas again pulling away and then lets off because a car was crossing the lanes.

Not to knock you but I guess the argument is it doesn't matter who use to be faster, it's who's faster now.

As ignorant as they come? Exactly where do you get off saying that? When boost spikes, the computer doesn't compensate to add more fuel unless you piggy-back it with a SAFC II or equivalent to even out your air/fuel. Without it you run lean when you spike.

Oh you'll get ran, don't worry. Wait til I put in another clutch, add more fuel, turn the boost up to 22.5psi +run you on my drags.

Nitrous is for people that can't build an engine to be fast. Enjoy your N20... "You're lucky that 100-shot of naws didn't blow the welds on your intake!" :lol:

Everything else is right, exept the head start ? he bogged LOL. I have Him on tape saying if he layed into it he would have ripped through 1st2nd3rd all rubber and wheel hop. Thats why he booged to skip all that.
But your right he prob is faster but im not Stock:naughty: I run a lil faster that a Stock SRT-4.

But right on, He was deff in the fast Catigory when I shot that film i was stock. LOL Re-flash and fresh tires on the front.:) Im sure Ill give him a good run from a dig tho. I havent seen him in months since you guys got busted/

As the car sits right now it's 13.5psi, might run a 12.8/9 or so. I've ran it when it was stock, went 13.9 in Cali. Had the work done and then moved here. I haven't been back to a track since but will head back after I get a new clutch and turn the boost back up. The dyno sheet is in a box somewhere around the house. We just recently moved and everything's out of place. On 22.5psi it dyno'd 385hp/392tq. The 13.5psi it's at now is probably near 280hp or so.
