I've seen alot of questions on this in here before,im bored,so decided to do a write up. :-)
First things first..Boost has to be had.
1-AGP WasteGate Actuator, turn the boost up a little and hold more at redline.
2-3 inch exhaust system, the stock isnt very restrictive, but this is a pretty well jump from it.
3-Mopar Stg1 Computer,richen it up a bit,bump the boost again.
Second...Can't keep traction? The car is feeling really fun now.
1-Agp/cca/spearco intercooler, the little turbo maybe coming close to not so effiecent levels, make sure that air isnt all hot.
2-3 inch o2 housing, let the turbo breath a little better.
3-EBC/MBC,Wanna control the boost, and pinpoint your desired setting.
Third...Yea it chirps.
1-Drag radial of some sort, most will recommend the 225/45/-rim size here-
2-Safc or powerpaq,Tune the car, make sure no lean spots. And pull the power out you never knew was there.
3-Ported intake Mani/Throttle Body,Get better flow of air moving in.
4-MapClamp,Fuel/spark cut sucks..we know it,becareful using this one.
Forth..Was that a Cobra?
1-Bigger Turbo,gt30r,60-1,anything in the area will work fine :-)
2-If not a turbo,Nitrous..
3-Better clutch,at this point..your stocker is going thru hell.
4-Bigger injectors,r/c makes 650cc or 750cc and are suitable now.
5-Standalone,Yea the safc will work, but you can still only do so much with it.
6-Axles,If you plan on rocking slicks and wanna get a hardcore launch, definitely needed. :-)
I left out Mopar 2/3,suspension upgrades and so fourth.Add as you please :-)

130 pounds i figure that adds some hp :-P. stupid question but it needs answered, where is the 3" 02 housing....is it what the dp bolts onto? Always been wondering but felt stupid to ask...feel free to flame.

hmm how much whp does it free up usally, seems to be a cheap mod and if its worth it ill go do it. Already have the 3" dp to 3"exhaust.

If you plan on keeping your stock turbo, your only doing the better.I think i read a 13whp gain but i could be wrong,NeonDan chime in :-D

o2 housing only adds about 2-3 peak power... but it adds about 10-15 after and before the curve... better top end and faster spool...
buy a big turbo and turn up the bbbbbbbbooooooooooossssssssstttttttttttttttt!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!

question with #3 why upgrade the com. for fuel? why not just piggy back? is it the upgraded com does more than just richen.

why do little bolt on crap come on people big turbo prefered gt35r also aem ems big nasty cams bore the shit 60 over wisecos crower rods sheet metal intake methonal injection spray that bitch and run 25.5-10-15 inch slicks watch i am going to by a pt cruser and show you neon people how to build one and stop playing around
ACR2NV
11-30-2005, 11:54 PM
the only downside to the PT is the getrag 5 speed cant hold power and the 4 speed cant either so if you decide to build one you'll prolly need to get a built 3 speed from earlier neons and turbododges OR build up a decent neon tranny to bolt up
Rob and Dave@Big Valley

that is the plan to get a srt trans and criotreat

ok here is the real way
Step 1: Go to http://www.tamparacing.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=75
Step 2: Post SRT4 for sale
Step 3: Find a good deal on a Mitsu Eclipse GST or preferably GSX
Step 4: Use rest of money from the SRT4 sale to:
A: Do full 3in down pipe and exhaust on Mitsu
B: Bigger TURBO
C: ADD FUEL
D: AEM EMS
E: Alky kit
F: Pray for traction if not AWD
Step 5: Use left over money to buy life insurance policy so when you kill yourself with all that horsepower your parents can have a decent funeral for your crazy ass.
Step 6: If you are still around after step 5 buy a whole new block turbo and all supporting parts cause you just bought a ticking timebomb and you know its gonna break!
ha ha ha im jfwy guys I coulnt resist after what dave and rob posted

alot of people dont realize you dont even NEED an SRT4 to make a dodge fast...
just find an omni/horizon, turbo van, aries k , Spirit, Shadow, Lancer (yeah theres a Dodge Lancer) or Sundance
build a 2.2 or 2.5L bottom end
modify a 2.0L/2.4L DOHC head to fit the block using appropriately fabricated items
build a 3 speed auto or add some security to a 5 speed A555 Getrag or 5 speed A568 tranny
add a bigger turbo and corresponding fuel
do a lil weight redux
.....once tuned the setup can yield impressive performance. Theres a guy in the NE running a shadow...i think his name is Brian Slowe....running low 10s on slicks using the setup mentioned above

The shit brown Omni in SCC a few months back used the same setup. And that was a badass ride.
Old school turbo dodges own . But the fact remains the only thing that hot right now is the 50 kajillion kids who realized SRT's are pretty fast adn cheap enough to fit within their parents 25k get a new car when you turn 16 cap ...

do a lil weight redux
That's my favorite part about old turbo dodges, hehe..
Jordon's FULLY FULLY GUTTED ( like no heater, no head liner, no a/c, no ac bracket, no sound deadening, no rear inner panels, no rear seats, no rear bumper, and exhuast weighed 2200LBS EVEN !!!
People think a gutted omni is so light !!! My 100% stock weighed CRX Si weighs 2165LBS with A/C, and junk in it...
I will agree 100% that old school dodges are pretty cool...
Of course, my favorite is the 91' spirit R/T, its soooo sleepy... But you spend almost as much replacing timing belts as you do putting gas in them...

theres a guy in lakeland with a fast NA-T PT.....20g with some bolt ons....it looks sooo harmeless but sounds so evil
Its a mid-high 13sec car still, after it gets tuned ?? It should be pretty nasty...
I'm sure the SRT4 would be a lot faster with the 3-speed auto, but trying to drive one like a sports car would be impossible....
Lee's GLH-S replica omni runs 8.0 at lakeland on a 3-speed auto, slicks, and stock motor/intercooler/turbo !!! FULL WEIGHT WITH A/C !!! For reference, my car ran 8.8, hehe.

what does a stock SRT-4 scale with a full tank of fuel?

Without the spare, 04' with sunroof, no side air bags, and no kicker system mine weighed 2945LBS. without me, and I'm 200LBS. even.
Fully weighed with kicker and side air bags prob. tops 3000LBS.
My friends 03' GTi with leather and all the options 1.8T weighed 2850LBS.
New civic Si is supposed to weigh like 2850LBS. which is why its still slow even with its 197hp vtec special. Civic Si ran 15.6 tested by motorweek.

12-03-2005, 04:54 PM
A truely gutted CRX HF could see 1800-1900LBS easy. With that kinda weight, 230whp could run high 11's...

OK, I thought they weighed more. My SRT buddy was telling me that it was around 3,300 lbs.
