I recently killed my current setup (2 days ago) it leaned out somehow and killed a piston. I had the zz4 motor, with an upgraded valve train and some n20 and other crap. I was spraying when it went. I am looking to send the heads off have em ported, block stroked. I wanna do a 383 but I would like a proven combination. I ran a best of a 7.6@95 in the 1/8 mile with a 2.1 60'. I have stock stall in tranny, but i could replace while motor comes out (pulling motor tomorrow). I would like a parts list, proven setup. I want around the 7.6 mark without spray ( i put down 400rwhp and 430lb of tq.) with the 125 shot on that motor. I am aiming for that on just the motor then possibly spraying that. any suggestions?

im looking for a semi daily driven fast ass car.

if you want to pay an assload for a "proven" setup then have right at it.. if i were you id take that block you have, throw it away and go find a 400smallblock.. .030 over that, stuff it full of forged shit, slap a solid roller cam and some high compression heads on top of that with a victor junior/holley 850 and see if thats good for 11s..

oh and once 11s is slow, you payed extra for forged internals.. spray it again.. 200 shot??

Well, my 383 isn't together yet, so I can't prove anything, but I'll give you a parts list if you want.

Coming from memory:

Eagle cast steel 3.75" stroke crank
Eagle I-beam rods, 5.7"
Speed Pro hypereutectic 4.030" pistons, 10.5:1 compression
Trickflow 23 degree heads
Comp XR-294 roller cam, 1.6 roller rockers
Weiand single plane manifold
Demon 750cfm carb
MSD Probillet w/ 6AL box

It's an early 70's 4 bolt 350 block. I had it tanked, bored .030" over, decked flat, and notched to clear the rod cap bolts.

well if your running 7.6 with 2.1 60's, Id say get a torque converter, get a shift kit in the tranny, and find a way to hook that up, get it down to like atleast 1.7 60's. By Some Sportsman II Aluminum heads. 383 Forged, with 10.5:1 compression.
