Headin to the movies last night with my gf we came across a silver trans am that gave me a rev. We both happen to catch a light, and my gf looks at me and says SMOKE HIS ASS.... Light turns green, and I hooked up awesome! Put about 4 car lengths on him to 60, then we got another light so I backed off. The guy asks me what I've got done etc etc, then this civic pulls up next to him and says "You got smoked hahaha". Asked him if it was an LS1, and he said no it's an LT1. I thought all the LT1's had the older style front bumper though, unless he didn't want to make his LS1 look bad. I dunno, anyways good night out I guess.......

Anyone know of LT1 trans Am's with the newer LS1 style bumper? I dont get it.....

no such thing....if it has the pushed in headlight style then its an lt1..

Nope, it had the newer hood (non WS6), and front bumper..... Just don't see why he would lie about that?!?

was it a reg. trans am or a comp t/a , and did it have t-tops???? cause formula69(scott) has a lt1 trans am silver t-top

LS1 T/A's have the fog lights more to the corners of the bottom of the bumper (next to the turn signals)while LT1's have them more in the center. LS1's have the honey comb taillights and the LT1's do not.

i dont know what the big deal is its very easy to tell the difference between a lt1 and an ls1 camaro/ta

He probably didnt lie about it...he just doesnt care enough about his car to know what it has. I sell cars and met a kid the other day that "supposedly" swapped out a cam, and wants to throw a supercharger on his 02' SS Camaro,with an LT1....reasoning for his ignorance...his friend had a 97 Z28 with an LT1 so he just assumed it was the same thing. Ignorance is bliss. Congrats on the kill though, that Vettes lookin good.

It was down here in PC anyways, Maybe ill come up friday night or somethin and chill.... I used to have a LT1 vette, with a k&n intake, hypertech tune, borla exhaust, and the best that thing would run is high 13's. I'm pretty sure i will be able to run 12's, last time out was 13.2@ 109 mph with a 2.23 60' time (bad launch).

I'll see if i can get up there saturday, but I'm not sure where to go..... Some kid here has a 02' Z06 with intake exhaust and headers, maybe I can get him to go too.

it could have been an lt1 with the newer nose on it. certainly possible. either way, nice kill.

Nope, it had the newer hood (non WS6), and front bumper..... Just don't see why he would lie about that?!?The LT1's never came with the LS1 front end. But a popular swap if there is major front-end damage is to swap the newer front end on since the bolt holes will line up. The headlamps would also have to have been changed since the '93-'97 pop-up lamps were more flat (again, can easily be pulled from a donor car.)
