View Full Version : Firebird Cylinder Heads - Question
So, like, I need a set of cyliner heads that'll fit my 3.4L Firebird. They don't have to be FOR the Firebird, they just need to fit the damn thing. Results online have been well, less than fruitful, and I want to spend as LITTLE as possible. I'm going to call up the junkyards tomrrow, but does anyone know where to find heads for the 3.4L cheap, or can tell me if any other heads will bolt up?

as far as I know, any 3.4/3.8/2.8/3.1 head should work since it's the same motor basically

also most other mid-size gm's should have the 2.8/3.1/3.4/3.8 motors like v6 grand ams and grand prix's
No shit, I can throw a set of 3800 heads on there? I wont have a problem with the valves or anything? I did find several 3800 heads around, and I'm sure the junkyard has plenty too, but I thought that something about them would be different because they're on a larger (And much fucking nicer) engine.

Hell no on 3.8s. 3.4s are a 60 degree v6 the 3.8 is a 90 degree for starters. Id honestly source heads only from a 3.4 RWD car , which would only be firebird/camaro. the 2.8/3.1/3.4 has been thur a lot of changes, im sure you could use a lto of heads, but who knows how different certain things are thru the years, and RWD blocks are different than FWD.
Ugh, I so want to sell this POS and get somethign else..but my selection of cars is somewhat...limited, due to budget.
Whats your take, Mars, should I just try to dump this bitch, or do you know if new heads can be had for cheap?
