So I'm cruising down hillsborough ave today, and I look in my rearview mirror. I see what appears to be a 1978 'Smokey and the Bandit' Trans-am. Cool. Then I notice it has an intercooler. I'm like Awesome. Than I notice it's a S13 hatch with the Trans am front end 'grafted' onto it, and It's plastered with XAT stickers, and Casey is driving it. WTF?
Sorry, no pics.

You must be on crack, there is no such thing. Casey drives a silver Maxima on 18s that he picked up at auction.

haha I see it every day and the more I do the more I love it!
I did all the electronics and suspension on the "bandit". It's a fun car.
Would you believe me if I said it has a V8? Everyone will see it soon enough.
Man if it's causing this much of a stir I can't imagine what people are gonna say when they see the lexota.

It does outpower the 5.7l T/A motor by a huge margin.
It's a chink in derka's clothing.

^ hahahahahahahaahahahahahahaahahahah WTF? why not a rancharo or el camino with either the mustang or camaro fronts??????????
ohh and its pretty bad in 84,85,and 86 that the SVO 4cyl turbo made more power and almost as much tq as the 5.0 of the same year. ow3d!

Cause a mustang and a fairmount are essentially the same damn car. You could bolt up a road race suspension, drop in a efi turbo 302, then on top of that, its a complete bolt on to change the front fenders, bumper and hood.
So for very little effort, I could have a mustang truck, that handles and makes lots of power
and how much power were toyota making back then ? ;)

In 86, it put down somewhere around 220 but not even close on torque compaired to the 5 liter. It did have 4 wheel disk brakes which didn't surface again until 1993 on the Cobra. How sad is that?

my 78 had 220hp@3800 but 370foot lbs @ 2400, i think they were lying about the horsepower. The automatic cars had the 180hp motors. I could start that car in 3rd and not realize it until i tried to shift into 3rd, wondering where the hell my other 2 gears went.
