extra cash? the vr6 is faster stock for stock and it cost more? so what extra cash are u talking about? and the oppurtunities with the vr6 are way greater than the 1.8t.. 1.8 < 2.8.. just get a vr6 and turbo it..then u will have the best of both worlds..u should just get a mk2 gti and swap a 12v vr6 in it and turbo that..it would be badass..way quicker than a newer gti..unless u want the luxery side of it..

turbo+vr6 not built for boost and the 1.8 is just go turbo and do it right not the ghetto way of TR .... couple upgrades including turbo upgrade and that car will move...

Get the vr6, It might not be as easy to mod at first, but if you Turbo or super charge it you will rape. Or if you are really baller you will look good and hard and find a 4motion vr6 manual then turbo that and O god look out.

please elaborate on how there not built for boost..and then look here www.eiptuning.com and look at the 24v vr6 turbo kit from them..i have seen a couple vr6t's that run REALLY strong..so i dunno wtf your talkin about..

The VR6 was originally designed to be a 2.4 turbo diesel motor, just thought I would throw that in there. Hands down a VR6 turbo will own a 1.8t in the long run. Until someone runs a 1/4 mile sub 10 seconds in a 1.8t I will always say the same thing. If he wants something for easy daily driving with some pep, either motor would be a good choice.
