Fun project, Race, Show, Restoration, weekend cruiser, daily driver,.......So whats the purpose of yours?
If yours is anything like mine it's been a few of the above and some not by choice . So what made you originally get yours and what do you do w/ it now.
Mines changed for a few reasons. I bought it as my daily driver and first car. I didn't really have many plans for it at first other than my only means of transportation. Then it turned into a fun project I took off the road for about a year, and then went back to a daily driver for the following about 9 yrs. Durring that time it has served as hobby to take take to the track and run, but having to worry about relying on it to get to work the next day was not fun if I broke. Now it's more of a weekend/fun/beat the husband/never sell car . I don't drive it every day anymore and we now have a garage to keep it in. I actually hope it will become a project again soon because I have so many things I would like to do to it.

Mine used to be a daily, but I got tired of not having AC, so I bought the Caddy. Technically, I guess the Caddy is kind of a classic, so I still DD a classic car. The Camaro is now my mean street machine which comes out on weekends.

The purpose of mine latley has been to sit and collect dust. I'd like it to be more of a weekend cruiser, but between babysitting the grandson and afternoon rainstorms, I don't ever seem to take it out much anymore. Another problem is I don't keep it at home, so if I decide to go out I need to get my car out of storage, hopefully there isn't someone blocking my door. Then wash it cause its always a month between rides. By that time I need a shower, so its usually late when I finally get around to go out. I do love midnight cruises tho, always much cooler out and not as many dumbass's on the road to worry about.
This is easy. The purpose of my car is to make me happy! I may only drive it 100 miles a year but each one of those miles is euphoric.

our first javelin started off as a car to get us by until we found what we wanted. on the way home from picking the car up i fell in love with the car. it's a weekend cruiser car. then we got the girlfriend a 71 and i was going to make my car a 10 second street/strip car. now it's going to be a high 11, low 12 weekend cruiser/strip car.
the girlfriends 71 is a daily driver. late next year it should have a tremic (spelling) 6 speed and around a 350 rwhp daily driver :dunno:

my parents bought me my 68 valiant for $700 for my graduation present, just to get me around while i was at college. i always had an interest in cars, new and classic, but never really got deep into it until i started driving my car. then i became obsessed with muscle cars. it was cool to have ppl looking at my car and pointing (although im sure some may have been laughing:tard: ) and asking me questions. so i got kinda of tired of saying i dont really know and i started going online and learning all that i can about Mopar and muscle cars in general...right now its my daily driver and it will prolly stay that way for awhile, but i want to get some cheapo car to drive so i can do a proper resto like this car deserves. im planning on getting it painted this month if all goes well.....*fingers crossed* im thinking of goin Midnight Blue. it should really accent the crome on it. then of course farther down the road i will upgrade my drivetrain.

I'm suprised to see others that were/are actually daily drivers also. I don't know why I didn't think there were too many. I enjoy driving mine as much as possible, but the heat down here is horrible to not have the a/c working stinks. But I hope to change that. I love the winters here.
I hope to do the same as you Javelin. I want a street/strip car but with a/c. I run mid 13's now and would like to run mid to low 12's. I have plans to at least do a new cam soon and from past experiences w/ this motor, that will get me a lot closer. Still would like to do a fuel system, nitrous and eventually a new motor. And disc brakes would be nice too.
Valient thats a cool graduation present :bigthumb:

I'd love to drive mine everyday if I could, but the gas $ might kill me. I just take it out on the weekends, shows and the track.
