Lifter Tapping (3SGTE)

I believe I have a lifter tapping. It only happens when the motor is cold. In any case, what should I do?

If I have to replace parts, does an upgrade exist in this area worth wild?

The sound you are hearing is probably an exhaust leak from the exhaust manifold. That is why it only happens when it is cold. This is a very common problem on high mileage 3S engines. Exhaust manifold warps and needs to be resurfaced, and the gasket replaced.

It turned out to be the Manifold! This is good new for me because #1 my motor is just fine and #2 I have a reason now to get a polished upgrade manifold! :naughty:
