you are going with the Tein springs right?

personally i would do the install and alighnment the same day.

your handling will be spot on, and you wont have any uneven tire ware.

Pay 120$ over at Firestone to get lifetime alignment anywhere in the USA.

Lowered my old car (not a Suby) and never got an alignment -- drove perfectly straight.

Don't half-ass it. If you're going to spend the money modifying your car, do it right else continue saving till you can. In an ideal situation, lowering the car would only knock out your camber specs but in reality since you will be unbolting the hub to get to the strut, chances are you'll be introducing some (minor) changes to toe settings. Will the car be undriveable afterwards? No, but you may experience some unnecessary tire wear (minor again) if the toe is off. And don't look at the alignment as being an expense, look at it as being a performance enhancement. You'll have the ability to set a more aggressive tune and get away from the stock settings.

Are you planning on DIY or having them installed?

let the springs set for about a week (or one day of agressive driving), and then perform the align.

even a completely oem sti could benefit from an align, after some miles....

i will be lowering it myself. let the car settle for a week and then get the alignment done to make sure its ok.

Mastro did an excellent alignment on my car after I put on the suspension, which I did myself. When we did it the guy helping me had a tool you put on one of the lug studs to let you reset the camber close to what it was with the new stuff on it.

I don't recall, but I really don't think they had to do much, aside from set it up for performance (I think I have -1.5* camber in the rear and -1* front)

If i lower my wrx do i need a camber kit or is a alignment the only thing i need?

Depends on how far down it goes and how much camber you want. I believe that the -1.5* I got is the approximate limit of the stock camber bolts with the Spec C suspension I have, but I could be wrong.

It couldn't hurt. Always nice to have extra flexability. I don't think camber bolts are that expensive... camber plates, on the other hand, can be.
