Tib vs C5 vette

Yes that is right I got my run with a c5 finally!! I have to admitt it was one of the better races I have had. Well guess you all want the details so here goes..

I was taken my not so little yet younger bro to work Sat. when we came up to the intersection of ...... and ........, Well I was in the right merge lane the vette was on my left we were both at the stop light I was messing with the radio trying to find something good on anyway I look over and he is grinning from ear to ear, So I ask my bro should I give him a run little bro says sure!! Then light turns green I wasnt sure if the Vette was actually going to race or not so we both ended up easing off the line then we both lay into the throttle at the same time Vette just grabbed while I am spinning and my lane was ending so I switched to the far left lane putting the Vette on my right about a car out so I reline up with him jump at him twice he takes the bait and floors it ....We were rolling about 30mph (me in second) I instantly gain a fender by the end of third he is at my rear quarter panel I hit fourth and krept a little more putting the Vette's nose even with my rear tire when he shuts down, slams on the brake's so I did also thinking this was weird and he makes a sudden turn onto a side street.. because a freaking cop just pulled out of another side street. We flew by the cop around 85mph in a 40...ooops.. so the vette bailed I get pulled over about a mile down the road all I got was a ticket for my exp registration I forgot to go renew last week.. owell only 60 bux.. cop says "you know why I pulled you over dont yah?" I say "yes sir" cop "you were flying infront of that Vette you need to slow it down!!"...he is right I do need to slow down but its not everyday a Vette give's my little Hyundai the time of day...lmao kinda funny the way the cop said "you were flying infront of that Vette"....He was a cool cop and let me off ez since I have a perfect record and all... I wish I would have got to run the Vette a little faster than 90mph maybe like 130 or something owell it was fun the Vette driver gave me a thumbs up so that was cool maybe I will find one on the highway to toy with... or meet the same guy in a more remote location...

It was a silver one from St.Pete,V6,Manual.....I've also raced a allmotor/nitrous one in Pensacola(guys name is Nolan)...So bring your Tiburon out and race my stock Neon and Johns stock C5. :lol: :nworthy:

(And for clearification, I don't drive a v6 tib, I drive a 4cyl, turbo'd... the Alpine S/C is great to have on the v6's... but the tib's main problem is putting power to the wheels... traction is a biaaatch... anyhow... I'll back out of this convo now... lol...)

Actually I'm not sure which turbo he's using on that dyno, I know it was one of the earlier dyno's... and like I said above, thats a untuned dyno.. so ya the torque curve and everything else is gonna look shitty... I know that day they were just playing with the boost...

well im looking at the part of the dyno where the fuel leaned out some finally. but man, 18# to get 380hp....i dunno, im so use to boosted V8's now i've forgotten how the smaller displacement gets down. i mean hell, the setup i had planned, i was expecting 500-550whp @ <10psi with a T88H

well, I really don't know if you'll remember me... white tib that sometimes came to the carrollwood meets...

But, I put a first production turbo kit in the car, then had the car over-boosting (odd problem) so decided to put low-comp pistons in... which ended in blowing the bottom end out of the engine... ;)

So, rebuilt the engine, stronger... almost bulletproofed it... bored it out, yadda yadda yadda... anyhow, the engine is built...

Right now the car is in the body shop for a few dents and what not, I blew up a clutch two weekends ago... lol and all the turbo stuff for my second setup will be going in on the 18th... thats when it's going to XAT for the piping work and dyno tuning...

So, we'll see on the 18th what it's putting down...
